The new building is amazing and goes along well with their amazing donuts. If you are close, make a trip here to grab you a few to enjoy inside and maybe some to go as well.

H & R Bakery is famous for its glazed doughnuts. And they are delicious. But don't stop there. The baked cinnamon rolls are awesome and the iced sugar cookies are amazing. They have a large variety of glazed and cake doughnuts.

I can feel it every time I think of H&R, the warm glaze and hot donuts. The coffee or Pineapple juice. Nostalgic and Remarkable.

We stumbled upon this little bakery on a late night walk...couldn't believe it was actually open 24 hours. The yummy scent of baking cinnamon pulled us in. Everything we tried was delicious...even the espresso. The staff was sweet and helpful. Can't wait to return to...Salem to try more tasty treats!!!More

Really - YUM. It is so hard to find good, fresh-made, local, long-standing (not here today and gone tomorrow) bakeries these days. I hope H&R will continue on for generations. This is the kind of place that my Papaw used to go pick up fresh...donuts from in the morning before we were out of bed when we were kids. They have a great variety of baked goods and the sweets are just way too hard to choose between! Make sure you get there early enough that they don’t run out of your favorite!More

My wife & I had heard rave reviews about this bakery in a small storefront off the square in Salem, Indiana. When we finally had an opportunity to make the 30 mile trip, we bee lined for H & R. We were not disappointed. Our...half dozen was mixed with favorite flavors: 2 custard filled long johns with chocolate icing; 2 custard filled rolls with the same icing; a lemon filled roll; & a raspberry filled roll. As soon as we got into the car we split a long john & found the dough to be extremely fresh, soft, & not filled with air. The others were consumed over the next 24 hours. Each was as good as the first. We are looking for reasons to drive to Salem.More

I love this bakery! They have these amazing cream filled coconut topped donuts. Something about their recipe is like no other bakery that is in my area anyway! Plus they have great hours!

Best doughnuts in southern Indiana. We as a family/Comunity can't get enough. Currently renovating another larger building to be able to just around the corner to serve more people.

This place can be addictive stop at your own risk. I've lived in this town for a couple years and never noticed this place and when I finally stop and visit I was flabbergasted at the quality of such fresh donuts they almost melt in...your mouth I'm giving 4 stars because there was no where to set with a half gallon of chocolate milk. I would like to be able to consume the product on site so I don't leave evidence in my car.More
