While passing thru Indy, we always bring a cooler and make it a point to visit Shapiros! Been around I think 70 years or so give or take a decade! We buy meats and fresh Rye to take back home as it's hard to find...More

It's a little pricey but Shapiro's maintains tasty options for the palate. It feels like turning the clock back a little with the kinds of soups, breads, entrees, and desserts that remind you of home cooking. And, the tables look like they have for years....More

Probably the first time I haven given a five star review. Pastrami sandwich today was fabulous...bread great, cole slaw perfect. We got 2 bagels to take home, should have gotten 20. Best bagels I ever tasted and I come from the NJ/NY area. This restaurant...More

My husbands family lives in Indy and visiting Shapiro's when we are in town is a must. For most people it's the pastrami and other kosher style deli options (great rye bread, matzo ball soup, complete with sometimes surly meat artists). I'm a vegetarian and...More

Its been there for years and has changed little. The food is fresh and portions are large. The staff is always fast and efficient.

Shapiro's Deli has good food. It's a good meeting place with plenty of parking. We have been going there for many years.

This is kind of classic Mid-West deli/cafeteria food that hasn't changed a lot in the 40 years or so that I've been going there. The sandwiches are huge and half of one is enough for most people- and you can get half a sandwich here,...More

The corned beef is fantastic. Also enjoyable are the pastrami and salami. They used to have the best egg buns with poppy seeds, but their rye bread is excellent. I usually only eat half my sandwich there so that I can have some potato salad...More

Went to Shapiro's on the recommendation of a friend. Their Reuben is enormous. Enough to eat half for lunch and keep the second half for later. Lots of folks from the nearby Lilly plant go there for lunch, so either get there a bit early...More

I cannot find the question ! What is it! Portions at Shapiros are very large. On St Patrick's Day my husband and I each had a terrific corned beef sandwich. We could have shared one! So we each had half a sandwich to take home. The prices are moderately expensive, but you get great food and lots of it!
