Valet Parking is not exclusively to Sangiovese; get inline at Ruth Chris'. The restaurant is small and the interior is painted black. There is no ambiance Kuddos: great mozzarella; lemoncello. First time I've had "red" white clam sauce. YUCK!

I had been to the old location a few times and I always left with the feeling that the cost of the meal wasn't worth the service, ambiance or food quality that you got. We finally just tried the new location, which moved about a year ago or so. Unfortunately the only thing that changed was location. The meal was... More

I've been to the new location several times now. Unfortunately, the location in the Ironworks building is so dark that it lacks any sense of warmth or comfort. The food is very average. Two of us dined and neither of us thought there was much flavor in the pasta dishes. I have the tortellini alla elfie and there were only... More

Friends took me there for my birthday. I had the lasagna, and they each had a different special. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The portions were large, the food was hot and very tasty. Even though we were there on a Wednesday, it was crowded but not noisy.

I've now eaten at Sangiovese's new location three times, and for two of the three times, the food was disappointing. This is not to say the food is bad by any stretch, but there are many alternatives out there that significantly exceed Sangiovese (which is sad to say because this restaurant is an old favorite). Although the entrees sound wonderful,... More

Tonight we had dinner at Sangiovese located in the Ironworks at the corner of E 86th and Keystone just a mile or so west of the Old location. The old look is not completely gone though as there are remnants (chandeliers over the bar, mirror behind the bar and the copper espresso maker....see pictures) join with a distinctly contemporary decor... We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the old location, the food is always good, but the new setting is too dark. Black walls and dark grey drapes make it borderline creepy.

My first impression of the interior of Sangiovese’s was that it didn’t make much of an impression on me one way or another. Our party of five was ushered to a comfortably large round table that facilitated easy conversation including direct eye contact. No leaning over or in front of one another was necessary to converse. It was the perfect... More

We ate many times at the old location. The old location had a better atmosphere and vibe but I like the new place. The menu is very good but I always order a special as it is always tasty and fresh. Good staff and nice wines. It's a little costly but the food is very good.

My 4 friends and I were here for dinner as part of Northside Nights, which has a drink, salad, pasta main dish and dessert for $35. In addition, we ordered a grilled shrimp on salad greens, and toasted ravioli with marinara sauce as appetizers. Three of us ordered the Penne alla Emiligio (with sausage, pancetta and a rich buttery tomato... More
