We have been going to Black Market since shortly after it opened and it is one of our favorite restaurants in the city! The menu is innovative and seasonal. Although the staples are great (the pork chop is always awesome and so is the pickle plate) I almost end up ordering the daily special because it sounds appealing. Their beer... More

Black Market is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. That may sound hyperbolic, but I have never had a bad meal at Black Market. I have never had a bad time at Black Market. I have never had a bad drink at Black Market, and I have never had bad service at Black Market. The cooking is innovative... More

This restaurant feels like a friendly European bar/restaurant. Our waiter was friendly, informative and fun. Food was great (we ordered a second of one of our appetizers). Save room for dessert!

Our mission when we travel to a new city is to find restaurants that offer locally sourced foods. We certainly found that here and MORE! Delicious, wholesome, well prepared and seasonal. Everything was fresh, served right out of the kitchen and portioned just enough. The white fish app shared and our entrees was plenty but we did opt for the... More

We had that ennui that foodies get when they make a habit of dining out every night, (and every afternoon too for that matter) Those of us who dine out a lot know a dirty little secret... It gets old after years of this. (been doing this, like this since 1993) So then you find yourself going to only a... More

The food was innovative and absolutely fantastic! Whoever thought of combining pickled vegetables and house-made peanut butter was a genius! Whatever you do save room for dessert. The cream cheese ice cream is worth every single calorie. Top that off with amazing customer service by our waitress Blythe and it makes for a fabulous night out in Indy

If you're looking to experience very fresh farm to table cuisine in a friendly environment, you need to make a run to the Black Market. It's tucked away at the north end of Mass Ave across from an old Coca Cola bottling plant. There are communal tables, but if you prefer, you can arrive early or wait for one of... More

I really enjoyed lunch here. The prices are a bit high. The burger is really good. The mushroom / asparagus / goat cheese sandwich was good but not great. Too much bread covers up the taste of the great insides. One of these days I want to eat here for dinner. Then, I can actually try a cocktail. Eating outside... More

One of the best meals I've ever had. Great cocktails (every choice was not merely good, but great), great beer selection, especially Belgian/Flemish. I found it a tad bit pricey, but the quality of the food was definitely worth it.

Went here with a friend for dinner and it was a great place. Had a cool ambiance and good service. One thing to know is that their menu could be viewed as a little adventurous to some (bone marrow, rabbit, tongue, heart etc) so just know beforehand and check out their menu to ensure you don't have issues if those... Description
We believe the best neighborhood restaurants should be the place where you can enjoy fantastic food with eccentric beer, wine, and cocktail offerings. We opened on the East End of Massachusetts Avenue because our neighbors take food as seriously as we do, which makes it one of the most exciting food destinations in the city. We serve comfort foods with a modern update. Our obsession with age old pickling and preservation methods often makes appearances in our carefully crafted dishes. We believe that good food shouldn't be overly complex and the atmosphere reflects that attitude. We'll welcome you in jeans or a suit. Don't have time for a meal? That's okay with us. Come on in after work to unwind with a drink.
