A group of 21 arranged to use the skittles alley on a Sunday. Alex, who's pub it is, and his staff were terrific: friendly, attentive and, when required, simply let us get on with playing skittles. Although we didn't use the pub as such (the skittles alley adjoins the pub) it looks EXACTLY the sort of pub I would like... More

Didn't live up to previous experience. We suggested the venue but felt let down. Service was very slow, attention poor, 'waitress' appeared bored and uninterested. Food was slow to appear even bread and oil took 20 mins to arrive and bread was unremarkable. Fat Chips described on menu were replaced with overcooked macdonald fries without explanation apparently 'waitress' forgot to... More

Visited over the Christmas period, what a place, fantastic atmosphere, great food and beers , lovely log fire and the whole place felt very Christmassy . The landlord Alex I think his name was was a great old fashioned landlord that his finger on the pulse and it felt like we had known him for ages We will be back

My daughter and I had the most amazing lunch here today. I had the plaice dish which was sublime and my daughter had the goats cheese salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. The setting is perfect, a beautiful traditional country pub and the service was outstanding. We will definitely eat here again and would recommend anyone to visit - you won't... More

We visited this evening and sampled the burger and cheesecake. The burgers were a high quality and tasty meat served with a homemade coleslaw and fresh chips. Cheesecake was also delicious. The owner Alex was very welcoming. The building itself is a very traditional old English pub, very cosy with lots of nooks and crannies to explore We will definitely... More

I really love the Fountain Inn, we had dinner there on Christmas Eve and enjoyed the warm cosy atmosphere with the open fire and carol singers. The food is a notch above your average pub fare but won't stretch your bank balance to breaking point.

Went with friends one lunchtime. We had called to book for a Monday and surprisingly they were fully booked for the time we originally wanted so we reserved a table for later. When we arrived (on time) were told our table had been given to someone else with the same name - strange but it was sorted out though we... More

I visited the pub on Saturday 4th with my son and daughter in law for a belated birthday treat and was very impressed with the range of choice on the menu and how well the food was cooked and presented. Staff were friendly and attentive and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Once again visited with family for Sunday lunch this time and was pleased with everything I ate. We ordered two pork one lamb and one beef and all were beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. Cheese board was huge with different varieties and plenty of crackers. The cheese cake was delicious and chocolate brownie went down a treat. Good pleasant service... More
