So glad my friend and i stopped here for a late lunch before attending the Shaun Cassidy Concert! Our waitress was the BEST! Made sure we got our food in time to get to the concert. Everything was fresh and tasty. The corn bread was...amazing! Will definitely stop by when we are in the area again.More

This was a really nice restaurant. The portions were large, staff was friendly. Had a decent menu and plenty of dessert choices. It was loud but that was due to it being busy. Server was patient and knew everything there was to know about the...menu.More

A ton of food! Eggs seemed to be jumbo eggs, the sausage links were very large, kielbasa was hefty. Even though you got a significant amount of food, I think it was a bit over priced. The roasted potatoes were absolutely delicious. The food was...served to us hot. That is the most outstanding part of the visit. Even though our waitress was very nice and got our order correct and brought it to our table in a timely manner, she never returned to check on us.More

Stopped by this Resarurant after taking photo's at the St Charles Historical Museum.Happened to arrive here on a Wed morning the 22nd of May Well on my arrival the server asked if I wanted where she wanted to...I told her I prefer a window booth....After siting down a gentleman unknown to me, sitting ahead of me in a different booth said, his name was in on the menu. He told me he was the one that invented the banana split called " The Kitchen Sink" his name is Tom Anderson. It was an honor & a treat to meet the owner of the Colonial Cafe ...& the inventor of the classic banana split called the "Kitchen Sink" Well on to my review...I ordered Steak & eggs,a bagel with cream cheese, along with lemonade .Having caramel pecan pie for dessert. The server Jacqueline was great as my server... what a great personality . After my 1st time at this Restaurant I came back two more times.... one was to order the Kitchen Sink put on a miniature kitchen sink pedestal after a day at the Wheel's O Time museum, along with dinner...I was hungry that night. The last time was on a Sat. to stop here for dinner before going home...had a lemonade ,chocolate milk, strawberry lemonade ,chicken tenders, along with Tall Turtle foe dessert. The server Zachary was fabulous as well . Will be stopping by this May 2020 for another trip to the wonderful state of Illinois. I highly recommend this Restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. You won't be disappointedMore

Long day of travelling hence convenient next door to hotel so we came for dinner. I had the pulled pork mac and cheese and it was more than plentiful and also tasted fantastic. Famous for ice cream we shared the PBF Chipper and could eat...that everyday. Prices are more than fair. Service was great and friendly. Restaurant was very clean. Plenty of parkingMore

Who would have thought meatloaf and eggs would taste great together? Colonial Cafe did. It’s really nice to see newly added items to what has slowly become our favorite restaurant. Ask about their points system to earn towards $$$. We had a free meal last...night by using our points.More

The restaurant very nice and has a good atmosphere. There are cool pictures of the history of the restaurant and great food as well. The Fried Chicken meal is pretty good as well as the raspberry hot chocolate was also good. It could also be...pricey but I did get the bigger version of the meal. I did not get the ice cream but the menu was big so will certainly come back for that.More

There’s a reason why they have been around since the 60’S.... great food. We ate there twice. A lunch and late dinner. Family atmosphere. Good service. Friendly staff. Great food for a cafe. They have ice cream treats galore. The kitchen sink looked interesting. Not...fan fare for a lactose intolerant person 🤪 if I had to pick one thing there... it would be the French onion soup!More

We came here in the evening for a small desert. The sundaes were available in three different sizes, which was nice because we didn't want a lot. Perfect toppings including roasted pecans made for a scrumptious late night snack.
