Ah- Mazing!!!!! Food and service are the best! Faisal was our server and he made us feel as if he was our very own personal attendant!! Always there when anyone needed anything and super helpful while ordering. The food arrived and covered our table with...loads of tempting goodness. Order your sides carefully, the portions are made for 3 people! The Chicago style bone in Ribeye was so good I felt like I was treating myself to a lavish dessert more than a main course!! In my 5 or 6 trips to Chicago, this was the best meal and service all wrapped up into one! Treat yourself and go see Faisal at Gibson’s in Rosemont tonight!!More

An incredible meal at Gibson’s. We shared the lobster and a steak with sides of mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Gibson’s staff were extremely knowledgeable and happy to offer ideas and even catered to a vegetarian amongst us. If you really love your steak, then Gibson’s...is for you.More

My meal was fantastic(Chilean sea Bass). I know, who gets seafood at a steak house but I absolutely love sea Bass. Service and atmosphere were incredible. After a long day downtown it was so nice to just sit and relax with a nice glass of...good wine. I will definitely be back.More

We were attending a nearby conference and enjoyed two lunches here. OMG, everything was spot on. Food, ambiance and especially service. Over the two days we ate in the bar area and had Martini's, Pinot Noir, Filet Sliders, Sauteed Mushrooms, Crab/Avocado and Shrimp Cocktails and...they were all perfectly executed. The filet sliders melted in your mouth and flavorful. The bartenders were excellent at executing perfect Bombay Saffire Martini's. Especially impressive was experiencing the manager, Vince, checking in on every customer and giving us his biz card - nice touch. This is a new go-too place for us and they will have our business going forward. Yes a bit expensive, but worth every dollar - great value. Looking forward to our next visit.More

Never had a bad experience at this special restaurant. We enjoyed a avocado crab appetizer, wedge salad, filet, and carrot cake for dessert. Mind you, the portion sizes are so very generous that we shared the appetizer and salad. Their dessert easily are enough for...the table. Most importantly the steaks were cooked to perfection. Our waiter was wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.More

Be prepared for a pricey steak dinner, very excellent quality beef , excellent cooking, BUT, just order the baked potato for a side. Worse French fries than the McDonalds. Salad not even close to the quality you get from many other Chicago restaurants. Deserts are...huge to the point being embarrassing…the crème brûlée is pathetic. Wine selection was nice with expected prices for a nice cellar.More

I should first say that I believe we should all be extra patient with real or imagined issues related to restaurant staffing or service as we begin to emerge from this last challenging 2+ years. However, I can’t cut any slack for poor senior leadership....Senior Leaders (ie. General Managers) are compensated well and have control over all aspects of business operations. Hence, this negative review of Gibsons. Spenser, I hope you read all of this review. It’ll be lengthy as I have a lot to say. In summary, I found your GM leadership at Gibsons tonight to be lacking in all respects. For demographic perspective, you’re likely somewhere in your 30s and I’m well into my 60s… maybe our differences in age is part of our challenge tonight … Respecting the customer was not your first or second instinct tonight for sure. You exhibited an overt condescending attitude towards my customer needs; you were argumentative, smug, needy and defensive. I communicated to you at the very start of our interaction tonight that your very familiar address to me as “my friend” was insulting to me. I told you I likened your casual address was more appropriate for what you’d say to close friends or schoolyard buddies. I told you I was your guest, your customer and should be addressed more formally. You then defended yourself indicating you should be respected and indicating you should be allowed to express your individuality, your unique character… you later whined I hadn’t respected you in this first encounter. I think it is more your responsibility as General Manager to adjust towards me vs your expressed need for me to adjust to your individual needs. So, what led to our meeting tonight? I had just arrived wearing a mask indicating I’d like to make a to go order. I mentioned I was ready for a really great steak dinner, just not ready to eat it in a very crowded restaurant. A waiter was enlisted to take my order … which I had planned well in advance: WR Chicago Cut Ribeye $78.00; Hash Browns $8.50; Sautéed Mushrooms $10.50 & a Chocolate Mousse Pie $18.75. I was contemplating which wine to drink while my meal would be prepared. Prior to paying for my to go order, I told the waiter I’d like silverware to be able to enjoy my meal. He assured me I could get a full silverware service, including the Gibsons steak knife. He then asked what my room number was at Doubletree, the adjoining hotel. The waiter indicated the Doubletree Hotel staff was “so very good at returning Gibsons silverware and the steak knife”. I explained to the waiter I was staying at one of the walkable dozen or so mega hotels nearby (I was at the Hyatt Regency, a 0.25 mile walk). After double checking with someone, the waiter said that I couldn’t possibly have real silverware for my takeout order …. I asked him to get the manager so that I might talk with him. Here came Spenser Tuzzo, General Manager, addressing me as “my friend” wanting to know what I needed. I pointed out to Spenser Tuzzo, GM that his precious Gibsons silverware and knife had a better chance of being returned by me vs a random person happening to stay at the adjoining Doubletree Hotel. If anyone wanted to take Gibsons silverware and knives, which hotel they stayed at would likely not matter. At some point, Spenser acquiesced I might be making a valid point … that anyone who wanted to steal Gibsons silverware and knife might do so … no matter which hotel they stayed at … So here’s an idea for you Spenser Tuzzo, GM … figure out an option for customer like me tonight to pay $10-$20 +/- for useable real silverware to take out if you don’t want to entrust customers to a set of your coveted real Gibsons silverware. If I’m buying a >$200 meal, don’t you think I’d be willing to up-charge for real silverware to enjoy my meal? As I said earlier, there are more than a dozen mega hotels within walking distance of Gibsons. I can’t be the only person wanting to thoroughly enjoy a great take away steak dinner with real eating utensils … As General Manager, you should have identified this issue and have a solution in place … especially considering the last 2+ years challenging the high end restaurant business. Providing silverware to just Doubletree Hotel guests makes no sense. Spenser, don’t be so sensitive needing to express yourself. You are the General Manager, who should lead, identify issues, provide solutions … you are not a busboy or a member of the kitchen staff. In the end, you decided to let me have my meal and “borrow” real Gibson’s silverware … however, with the extreme effort it took me, I no longer felt safe getting my food from Gibsons … in spite of you volunteering to not go anywhere near the kitchen while my order was being prepared. Spenser, just this last comment alone should jolt you that any customer could be in fear of eating in your restaurant… Spenser, you failed tonight … big time.More

Gibsons has been om my bucket list for a while, and when visiting family for thanksgiving, venturing to Gibsons was a dream come true. The restaurant has an electric vibe, and when the food started to arrive our food experience commenced. I started with the...shrimp salad and these beauties served with cocktail sauce were large buttery pillows of joy. The steak then appeared, and this was orgasmic. The chicago cut was cooked to perfection of medium rare, the crust being salty and delicious with the knife whispering to the meat as it effortlessly sliced through. Guys your in for a treat, enjoy becuase trust me you won't be disappointedMore

It's been quite a few years since I've been to Gibsons, and I'd been missing it. Spouse and I made a special stop in Rosemont to meet a friend and revisit this restaurant, one of our absolute favorites. Yes, dinners are wildly expensive, but lunches...are relatively reasonable. I've said for years that Gibsons' crab cakes are the very best I've had anywhere in the U.S., and that continues to be the case. The filet sliders are still juicy and flavorful, with accompanying fries that are crispy and hot enough to burn your fingers. Asparagus was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is pleasant, the booths are comfortable, and service is excellent. My meal here made me wish I still lived in the NW suburbs so I could be a regular again!More

I love steakhouses. I think that's clear from my review track on Trip Advisor. So when I had a chance to try out Gibson's before watching The Monkees at the Rosemont Theater, I jumped at it. My wife suggested it, and suggested getting reservations early,...which we did. Good think we did - the place was packed on a Friday night. (Tip: GET RESERVATIONS OR WAIT! This place is popular for a reason). We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation, and were seated within seconds by the attentive staff. Since we were staying at the Hilton, we just walked over - they did have valet parking available. The wine list is on the back of the menu and in the drink menu both by the glass and bottle. We were lucky to spot the 2016 Jordan Cabernet, which was an excellent choice to accompany our filet dinners. There was an above average variety of wines and price points, with a lot of good stuff on the menu, but with that said, a 2016 Jordan Cab (which was what came out) - how can you pass THAT up? The meal starts with your server bringing out a slab of steaks and sea food that would make anyone cry tears of joy to see. They provide a guided tour of the meat on the platter, along with any specials. All sides are family size - we split a side order of spinach and a double-baked potato, as well as a wonderful Caesar salad which had 4 (count em) fresh anchovies (which were SOOOO good and I'm sorry, it isn't a Caesar salad without them!) The double-baked potato was so large that I wouldn't have been able to finish it if I got it alone, and I don't have a small appetite. Jeff our waiter was upfront about all of this. We ordered the steaks - I had their large filet, and my wife had their small filet - both medium rare. The steaks are cooked on an 1800 degree surface, so you get a good char coat to seal in the juices. That, and a 42 day or so aging process and the filets were melt-in-your-mouth good. We split a slice (1/4 of the entire full sized pie) of pumpkin pie, which was similarly enjoyable. However, the best part was Jeff, who served us with perfection. His service was exquisite. Ask for him - it's worth it.More
