This was not what I grew up with, true German. Things don’t look like the pictures (aka pork shank) the potato salad sucked. Go for drinks and get out quick. The bathrooms were a mess had to tell staff twice there wasn’t any toilet paper...More

It's Oktoberfest season so our group wanted to visit a German restaurant. Six of us went to the Hofbrauhaus for lunch today. None of us had ever been there before. It is a huge place with tables upon tables for bier drinking. The service was...More

Having just gotten back from Munich, I agree with another reviewer that this place is a letdown. They try to make it festive with bands, singing and stein holding contests, but it just doesn't have the vibe of Germany. That said, the inside is too...More

If you have ever been to the original Hofbrauhaus in Munich Germany you won't like this one. Except for that , it was fun.

Travel to Germany without getting on a plane. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is terrific and the entertainment transports you to Munich. What more is there to say.

When early for our flight at O'Hare this used to be our stop for a tasty lager and quick bite which is a relatively cheaper option than the airport. On our most recent visit we could barely finish our beer. What a skunk finish on...More

Do not waste your time here. The place stinks, dirty and food sucks. You can get the same beer anywhere else. Nothing special about this place.Service was horrible also.

I found that this Hofbrauhaus was more expensive than the other ones, I'd been to in Cleveland, Columbus and Newport (across from Cincinnati). Not sure why the souvenir glasses are twice as much here. The food and beverages looked higher as well, but maybe because...More

Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.
