The food, service, atmosphere and prices are excellent. The walnut shrimp is "to die for." We used to eat at Yu's in Schaumburg whenever visiting the area. The menu at Chef Ping is very similar to Yu's but we think the Chef Ping food quality is superior.

Everything was great used to be my favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, the new owners use MSG which is extremely dangerous to those of us caught unaware. Previous owners didn't use MSG. As for Gluten Free, the extra cost for Brown Rice is unwarranted. White Rice is not considered gluten-free and bad for diabetics.

The typical test to know if you're in a good Chinese restaurant is to evaluate how many folks of Asian descent are at the restaurant. We've been to Chef Ping a few times now and it's always PACKED ... and 80% of the clientele is Asian. There's a reason for that. It's really good food. And very authentic. You'll be... More

+ Fuchi faepian- a cold Sichuan dish that has marinated beef and tripe.  The cold dish was delicious and the flavor and spice was spot on + Also amazing good is the authentic dish Sea Cucumber with Scallion

We took our meal to go otherwise I would have sent back our entire meal. The crab rangoon was filled with yellow cream cheese and there was no detectable crab inside whatsoever. I ordered Pineapple Fried Rice as my entree. I got what looked like buttered white rice with a few tasteless shrimp. My husband had sweet and sour chicken.... More

The food is outstanding. I would give them five stars if not for one thing. During lunch they are relentless about rushing you through your meal. I often suggest this place for lunch to catch up with a friend and the entire meal we feel like we are fighting for the right to even be at our table for an... More

This is a busy place and half the customers were ethnically Chinese. My hosts knew the server personally and in general the service seems very friendly prompt and accommodating. We requested modification of a dish to a vegetarian version and it was done well (Kung Pao Tofu). Our food came quickly and did not suffer any degradation in quality for... More

While Rolling Meadows, Illinois isn't exactly where you'd expect to find such a high-standard of Chinese-cuisine on offer - that's specifically what you get at Chef Ping's. They've a nice offering of Dim Sum, though steamed items can take 15-20 minutes to be prepared/served. Most of their dishes tend to be prepared along Szechuan/Hunan-styles - a little on the hotter/peppery... More

Rumors has it that when the owner of Yu´s Mandarin sold his establishment he started a new one. Chef Ping and in fact many of the employees of Yu´s started working for Chef Ping. Nothing really wrong with that. The fare is similar and equally good so there is no reason to complain. The restaurant is mostly full and parking... More
