It is a tried and true throwback Steakhouse. it will exceed your expectations. Staff is knowledgeable and will make good recommendations. It might be pricey but you get what you pay for. It is worth the money to enjoy a fine meal.

I've lived in Peoria for 13 years but just visited Jim's for the first time this summer. What a treat! I wish I would have gone sooner. It definitely has an old-school supper club feel; many celebrity photos on the walls of those who have...More

Classic atmosphere greets you in this downtown Peoria institution. My NY strip requested Medium rare was very good. Cooked to perfection, and flavor, with a nice char on the outside, was just as strip should be. The cottage fries with onions were amazing! For chip...More

I have been going to jims for 30 plus years. The quality of the steaks has never changed. They dry age there steaks along with their 2 other related restaurants and are consistently really good. Service is fine and just a fine place for an...More

Ate at Jim's on a Friday while in town for a meeting. First off, the atmosphere is fantastic, especially if you were eating here for a romantic dinner dinner for two, a business dinner, or a night out with friends. The waitstaff was very friendly,...More

Did not visit here because I'm gluten intolerant. They have no GF menu and are unaware of what does & doesn't have gluten. So if you want a steak with no seasoning and a baked potato or steamed veggies you ate ok. They don't know...More

Our May 2017 visits coincided with our convention in the Civic Center, and we brought national and international guests for two consecutive nights. Impeccable service and great meals, along with the unusual atmosphere, made for two memorable evenings for our guests.

Jim's is an upscale steakhouse with a reputation for attracting famous people. It's ridiculously good, and employs experienced servers. Get the ribeye for dinner...it's huge and meticulously prepared (we prefer the bone-out), and goes great with their au gratin potatoes. On Friday's they also have...More

This is a very upscale classic steak house. Their steak is the best in Central Illinois but far from the ultra prime, dry aged steaks of Chicago or NYC or San Antonio or even Louisville, KY. To be fair, their prices are also only about...More

I coordinated a staff dinner here and everyone enjoyed it. Experienced servers and high quality food. From appetizers to dessert, it was all very good. Be warned - the wedge salad is gigantic!

There is no strict dress code. What you feel comfortable in would work well. The booths are high backed and very secluded so I doubt anyone would see your clothing anyway - I loved the privacy they afforded.

It's pretty fancy but I saw people dressed both ways. I saw a couple celebrating their anniversary in a suit and dress and then I saw a guy with a t-shirt and shorts on. I would recommend business casual or if it's a... More
