We visited the White Horse on recommendation as a family of 4 with 2 friends. When we arrived at 2 for our booking the bar was relatively quiet, but it soon become very busy with a party booking. We were seated quite quickly and menu and main course order taken within a fair time. Problems started after this. Firstly we... More

Twenty plus of us had a good time. The food was tasty, albeit the starters were haphazard in portion sizes (belly pork too small, soup too much). My main course - duck - was wholesome and beautifully presented. My dessert, a mixture of sorbets was nicely presented. For £25 I thought we had good value as it included half a... More

Great pub, nice staff, very friendly. We had fantastic roast beef lunch and burger for our lunch. Only disappointment we us both ordering apple & chestnut crumble....this was £7.50 per serving. Lots of chunks of apple, not sure if there was any chestnuts, pretty weak custard....but worst of all....no proper crumble but baked oatmeal!!!! Very disappointing for £14. But I... More

This is a lovely pub with a great garden. The seating accomadates casual dining in the bar and more formal in the restaurant. The food is good quality especially the triple cooked chips!

This was the first time we have visited the pub. Essentially this a pub and a separate restaurant . Folks however also seemed to be eating in the bar area. Dogs are allowed. Car park is great with plenty of space between cars. The menu was broad for a Sunday lunch with two roasts and a full menu with a... More

I took two relatives for lunch and we were all mightily impressed. The range on the menu was not enormous, but there was sufficient for us and we chose the pork tenderloin (delicious), sea bass (excellent) and fish and chips, which they readily converted to fish and mash which is better for dodgy dentures. (If I mention that the purple... More

Met with family friend and kids for an early dinner and not disappointed. Restaurant was quiet so service was excellent (though always good, even when busy). Food was served promptly and the quality was a level above other 'gastropubs' in the area. Good varied menu using local produce with 'theme' nights (today was fish Wednesday) and usually 3 or 4... Myself and my two teenage children stopped off here whilst house hunting in Otterbourne and it was wonderful! We were made to feel so welcome and the place had a lovely comfortable atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing and I hope to be able to visit again. Thank you x

We eat here regularly - food is always delicious and the staff are delightful. It takes quite a long time from arrival to eating but if you are not in a hurry this is a fabulous place to eat.

Having become a local by virtue of regular visits after a brass rehearsal at the local village hall every Thurs evening 7.30 - 9.30pm with Otterbourne Brass Band, we enjoy a swift (or not so swift) pint and some cake (yes cake from the bar...yay!). Lovely staff, are always pleased to see us, even if they need to chase us... More
