A very good breakfast

I visited Garden Berry recently with a girlfriend for breakfast. They have outdoor seating and Re efficient keeping track of their waiting list. My companion had the California omelet, with fruit and pancakes which she said was very good. I had the South Beach scramble, fruit and potato pancakes. Also very good. The service is efficient, all portions served in carry out containers and are large. A very good place for breakfast.

What a GREAT breakfast

Had a late bfast there today. Busy, most patrons indoors not masked but staff was and they're attentive to cleaning. We sat on the screened terrace. Service was great. The bfast was fantastic. Skillet with eggs, corned beef hash (could have used a little more corned beef), and my wife had Belgian waffles. She sets a high bar for waffles and she said they were great. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Hidden Gem

Moved to Vernon Hills in April and found this cafe. Been here multiple times and find food, service, and value outstanding. Good is delicious and go away saying wow what a meal! Restaurant is family owned so great pride in everything! Go you wont be disappointed!

No covid safety and very chaotic

Let me start by saying the food is delicious. But there are no sanitary or safety procedures happening. Menus not wiped, tables not spaced, employees either not wearing masks or wearing them improperly. Front of restaurant is being used as storage. There's tons of napkins, to go containers and silverware just sitting out. All staff are doing every job and it's just chaotic. Disappointed as we enjoy the food but won't be returning.

Best everything in town

We wanted something better than the basic breakfast at the hotel. The experience was perfect! Great nicely presented portions, efficient service and very tasty food. Appears everyone felt so as it was full with others when we left on a Sunday between 10-11 am. Kudos!

Good, hearty breafast.

Casual restaurant with great service and good food. Don't hesitate to get the biscuits and sausage gravy with your breakfast--it is really good and made from scratch. Always busy, but the wait time--if there is one--is short. The food is worth the wait. A lot of food for a reasonable price. Don't bother with the other breakfast place at Rte 60 and 83, go to Garden Berry instead. You won't be disappointed.

Great tasting food, large portions and friendly service. The restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but Gardenberry consistently impresses with both their breakfast and lunch selections.

Great Brunch!

We have usually gone to the original place, but decided to try the new restaurant. We had a large party and were waited on with great service. The food was very good. The restaurant is big but it was hard to talk; lots of high level noise. All in all, we enjoyed our brunch and will try it on another day besides a Sunday.

Nice place for lunch

We took our granddaughter out to lunch and we all enjoyed the good food and friendly atmosphere. The service was efficient and quick and the food was warm and delicious. The restaurant has a parking lot in front and also has an outside patio.

Nice touches and good basic food

Excellent breakfast and lunches and wonderful choices of sides to go with eggs and omlette dishes. The place is packed on the weekends and does a nice job during the week. Good choice for breakfast or lunch.

Counter Service was fast

Since I was by myself, I had an immediate seat at the counter. I was happy to know that breakfast is served all day. I opted for the blueberry waffle, which was delicious. The portions are big so it was very filling. It would have been a perfect breakfast except for the fact that the waitstaff decided to use the counter for their silverware chores and placed the wet utensil tray near me. It wasn’t crowded so I just moved to a different seat. Kind of weird but I guess they have no other place to do their work. I guess you shouldn’t expect much at the counter. You do hear all the gossip and it’s like the scene you watch in a movie where everyone gathers behind the counter catching up. They were all nice and attentive though. It’s a great breakfast place in a friendly town.

Great Restaurant

We were staying in Mundelein at the Doubletree and we visited this restaurant almost every day for breakfast. The service was quick. The servers were friendly and the food is very good and reasonably priced. This the original location but they are also opening another restaurant in Buffalo Grove. I had the Papa for breakfast several days which was three eggs (your preference), a large thick piece of ham, and two of the best potato cakes I have ever had. We also had their Apple bread French toast. It was fantastic. My wife had their oatmeal on one the days and thoroughly enjoyed it. This place is our go to for breakfast on future trips.

Went here for breakfast and enjoyed it very much. Had omletes and they are huge. Brought almost 1/2 home for breakfast the next day. Best of all the food is good and made with fresh ingredients. Will definitely return.

Worth a second visit

I had eaten at this establishment before and was not impressed, however, my friend and I decided to give it another try and I have to say, it was so much better. We both had veggie skillets and our side was crepes. The food was delicious, and I'm not exactly certain but it seemed as if the prices went down a bit. Last time I visited I thought the prices were very high for breakfast. This time, the prices were in line with other restaurants that serve a similar menu. I will definitely return again for another visit. Our service was great and it was nice to see so many people having a good time. I even thought the coffee had improved. Bravo to you Garden Berry!
