Great menu, amazing food & service. From out of town, but highly recommended & would definitely go back. I had the TILAPIA SASSAFRAS: Pecan-coated Tilapia, flash-fried, topped with a wild mushroom sauce, grilled shrimp, rice, and green beans. My coworkers loved their food, drinks &...deserts.More

Second time I’ve been there and I’ll definitely go back. Everything we had was good. The artichoke fritters were delicious. Today I had the Faroe Island salmon which was amazing. Cooked absolutely perfectly. Service was excellent too. Highly recommend.

Every year I vacation in South Carolina and have shrimp and grits for dinner every night for a different restaurant. Every place makes it different. Tonight, after having a taste for it, I found Bluegrass and that they had shrimp and grits,. The flavor of...the shrimp and grits at Bluegrass was the best I have ever had. I got it carry out with a 45 minute ride home and I am saying that. Only thing I wish they would change or allow me to special order is the tail removed from the shrimp.More

Everything we ordered was memorable. Gumbo shots. Artichoke fritters. Grouper. Shrimp & Grits. Jambalaya. And the deserts - do not miss the bananas foster. And their wine list was among the best - and most reasonably priced - that we’ve seen. Lot’s of outdoor seating....We’ll be back.More

I upgraded my included salad to the Bluegrass salad and was happy I spent the dollar. Very tasty! My entree was the Louisiana blackened grouper. Only lightly “blackened” it was delicate and flaky. The accompanying risotto with corn and crawfish was delightful. Would have loved...more. Had room for dessert, but thay should mention that most desserts are shareable in portion size. Two brownies with three large scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and cherries.More

As I'm getting older, I understand that service is extremely important for a restaurant, just as much as the actual taste of the food! We arrived at 4:30 and the restaurant wouldn't open until 5:00. They saw that I was looking at the door for...the time when they would opened and invited us in and said that they wouldn't allow us to sit in our car. We had reservations at 5:00 and we really just expected a couple of drinks until then, but a waiter soon arrived and took our order. A fun touch: all of the service staff know how to pour water/wine from a bottle with a long flowing stream into the glass. Varied 90s music in the background. Environment making my wife and I happy. Great Cajun dishes. Save room for dessert and order the cho. chip bread pudding! Get the larger piece and it looks like a good-sized pie. Our waiter was excellent: made good conversation and was funny! Fantastic way to end our trip before driving back home!More

We have ordered a few times in the last couple months. Always a good meal and efficient friendly curb side service. Last time we had the walleye pike with mashed potatoes and bok choy. Very delicious. Also had the dinner size salmon which was a...HUGE piece with sides also. Enough for 2 meals. Love the salad and the home made dressing. Enough for 2 to 3 people, and sometimes we save this for lunch the next day. Its big. We also had the chocolate chip bread pudding and the sweet potato pecan pie which is hard to find. This is enough for about 4 - 5 servings. All in all great food. You also get 3 delicious cookies complementary!More

We have been regular patrons over the years at Bluegrass and always enjoyed the atmosphere and taste of the food. With Covid still a concern we decided to order carry out of the skirt steak sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was good,...although a bit dry, (no type of sauce provided). The real disappointment was the skirt steak sandwich. Served as open face on half a piece of french garlic bread, the piece of meat covered about HALF of the bread.More

...prices are relatively high for the portion size. Fried calamari went over well but I thought it was fried onions for salad til it was gone.... jambalaya tasted great but I barely noticed any chicken or sausage, more like the amount of pork in pork...and beans. The pulled pork plate perhaps was delivered as the sandwich version..... relatively small amount of pork on a French roll? The potatoes and other side were very good. The bbq sampler and the pork both came with no extra sauce..... the corned beef and chicken beat out the ribs and sides were enjoyed. The teriyaki chicken also was enjoyed. Pick up was well handled and a thoughtful follow up call was made by the restaurant... nice touch.More

Bluegrass is a small, family owned restaurant, a hidden gem not far from the fire station in Highland Park. The menu leans towards cajun food, but also has other items that appeal to anyone - fish, chicken, steak, and other interesting items are excellently prepared...and presented. It is open for lunch from 11:00 - 2:00 every day except for Mondays. Dinner is from 5:00 to 10:00pm. It is our "go to" local restaurant and we dine there quite often and also order in from there. The proprietors, Joanie and Jim, are extremely personable, very accommodating and care about their customers. The menu offers sandwiches, salads, appetizers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Families are welcome here. On Sundays they have a barbeque menu and the chicken and ribs are to die for. If you want a comfy place that serves absolutely delicious food, then this is the place for you. Weekends tend to get busy, so a reservation would be the best way to go. They are closed on Mondays. We love it here!More
