Terrible quality, poor service. The worst Mexican restaurant I have been. The place is nice food is terrible.

Very good staff. Clean and quaint atmosphere with outdoor cafe patio style. Menu has many offerings and adult beverages. The food: ok. Nothing had any “flavor” it was beautifully plated and fresh but food was bland. Salsa was flavorless too. Always a sign. Pricey and...bland.More
I know that the food is very good, and the locals are very happy to be tourists in their backyard. But they should have an adult running the front of the house. They should not have an 18 year old running interference for a manager...who hides in the kitchen. That is not a sustainable model. Would like to see the owners participate on their investment. Not sure how long they will last.More
We ordered Nachos and basically got shredded lettuce over a handful of chips. They’re margaritas were good but the food was disappointing. Nachos aren’t hard.
The owners of this place are so friendly and the food is so good. We love the fajitas so much. Please come and enjoy!
Stay far away from this place. If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered enchiladas with ground beef without beans (food intolerance). First plate was chicken, sent it back. Second plate had beans, sent it back, third plate was cold and missing an enchilada....At this point I said please take it off the bill we are done. Manager never came over. We spoke to her on the way out asking her why she never came by? Her response was "what do you want me to say?" We said how about "sorry?" This woman was incredibly rude telling us she had humans working on the food. Told my son she is sorry he has my husband and I as parents. This whole experience and place was absolutely nuts!More
Terr - i - ble. Seriously, do not go here. You will thank me later for this advice. My food was average, lukewarm, not much flavor. Tacos are $21, which FYI, is the same price as Frontera Grill in Chicago - and this place ain't...no Frontera. And the chefs here ain't no Rick Bayless, I can tell you that much. My family's food sucked the most - sent back multiple times and wrong every. single. time. Cold, mushy, prepared in about 30 seconds each time which shows it isn't fresh. Worst part was the manager. My oh my, what a mouth does this woman have. She is an arrogant, belligerent person. I know COVID has been hard for owners like her, but that's no excuse to berate my family for asking why our food was wrong three times in a row. She proceeded to yell at us after we simply requested an apology. The only bright spot was our server - Isabelle. She could not have been nicer or more apologetic. Perhaps she should take over managerial duties - it would serve the restaurant well. Guanajuato, you are in a league of your own and it's very lonely. Next time I think of you, I'll opt for Taco Bell instead.More
Having eaten here several times it never occurred to us before to write a review. The food has always been excellent quality and extremely good. This is a go to restaurant for Mexican.
Outside of Texas or Cali this was as good and authentic Mexican food as I’ve had anywhere. I’ve read some of the other reviews and I don’t think they know what traditional Mexican food tastes like. The service was excellent as was my Margarita. MHO....Try it for yourself.More
We had a fun friends’ dinner with good food & drinks here. Nice musician and friendly service too. Tried their salmon tacos which were very good and my husband loved the salmon with vegetables entree. Will return to this casual Mexican restaurant again.
Always tasty, friendly, fast and filling. Great informal and fun place for friends and families, tucked away in Southern Glencoe.
the atmosphere is good. service is ok. drinks are good. prices are ok. food is not good - either plain/bland or bad. I've had a couple of OK items. owner/managers don't seem friendly.
This is not a fancy place, just a good family type Mexican restaurant. The décor is cute and you can sit outside if there is a table available. They have some very interesting fish dishes and a good assortment of standard Mexican dishes. Food is...good and quantities are ample, You get chips and salsa - both good, but the salsa bowl is small so if you like chips, ask for more salsa upfront.More
This is a gem of a Mexican restaurant. Starting with the excellent margaritas and guacamole to the skinny Ceviche and then go for the molcajeta- wow. One of the best Mexican dishes I’ve ever had. Seafood and everything are all very good One of our...favoritesMore
You can't go wrong with Mexican food from Guanajuato's! Huge menu, multiple meat choices and plenty of veggie options. Plus, GREAT guacamole with chips, or jicama and cucumber. The salsa is not the best, and very watery, but decent flavor. Good stuff!
