When you go into a place like Niche, you expect a capable team who knows their trade. After having mis-fired at another place on third street, we were hoping this would be a better experience. Everything started out well, but then after we placed our...More
food was very high quality; it is expensive; the house manhattans very good; we liked the halibut and the hanger steak; servers were great but they do need some extra help at times - a small thing but my water glass not refilled

This is by far my favorite breakfast place! Unusual dishes, reasonable prices, knowledgeable servers. The place does fill quickly on weekends so plan accordingly. I haven't been to the new location yet, but can't wait!

Actually the original restaurant, 302 West, closed when Joel, the chef , died, and his widow Katherine no longer wanted to keep it going. The staff tried to buy it, but that fell through and a few years later they opened Niche in a different space. That restaurant has never been closed since it's opening, I'm pretty sure, though have remodeled the interior at least once and the management has changed hands and the chefs have changed. Still delightful, though!
