After we enjoyed a delicious dinner with great service, we left the restaurant to head to the airport. My husband left his prescription glasses on the table. He can’t see without them. The restaurant very kindly agreed to mail his glasses to our home and...we are so, so grateful! This is a restaurant not only serving up great food but also service that goes above and beyond. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Patten House.More

Really great dinner the other night. I was a part of a party of 10. The Brussel sprouts, and mac and cheese appetizers were phenomenal. Had the blackened grouper for dinner and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked as well. The only issue was drink...service was slow. Our waitress originally had a helper who fell off somewhere during the service, slowing things down. Definitely a great spot for dinner, and will be back soon.More

Great historical home but creates a noise and lighting factor. Food is very good. No placemats and tables close together. Would have liked to learn more about the home. Accessibility may be an issue.

First, It is a lovely structure with a cozy atmosphere, but more importantly the food was good as well as the glass of wine! The Sprimp & grits small plate was excellent and made a perfect size entree. Regarding masking up the staff two years...into the pandemic, I don’t see the point, wear a mask yourself if you are paranoid about CoVid, just know a cloth mask is theater, not ScienceMore

We had a great experience at the Patten House Restaurant! From the small plates, to the drinks and the service and atmosphere outside, we would recommend eating here.

I ate here during a two day trip to Geneva. I wasn't expecting to find Louisiana cuisine in Geneva, but the restaurant did a great job in preparation and presentation. My daughter had a delicious jambalaya and I had a broiled cajun shrimp dish that...came with mashed potatoes that I think also had avocado in them. We had a bottle of french sauvignon blanc/Sancerre. My daughter had coffee at the end of the meal and I had a slice of delicious chocolate cake! Service was very good and our server was friendly. I would definitely recommend Patten House.More

We are repeated customers and this was our first choice to get out after such a long time. So disappointed to enter and see the owner without her mask. She was cleaning tables but not sure how clean after she leaned all over them. We...were seated well away from others which was nice. Ordered our drinks from a very nice waitress. Looked up after she brought them and see the bartenders without their masks filling drink orders. Busboy and chef/ cook walking through...NO masks. Asked to speak to the hostess regarding the bar staff. Nothing was said to them by her. Owner continued walking around....NO mask. We will never return since this is the disrespect shown to patrons. So sad they can’t do what is right.More

Seems like a tornado ripped through New Orleans one day and dropped a proper cajun restaurant in downtown Geneva. The grand old manor serves food straight from the bayou. Decor is comfortable southern charm. I had a gator po' boy that was the best I've...ever had and I've been to NOLA. The gator meat was soft and sweet and covered with a tasty slaw. Hard to get gator around here I must say. My wife's pulled pork sandwich made her very happy. Bar menu is long and varied, service exceptional. A perfect place for that special date.More

My friend and I, after months of remaining out of restaurants, had a wonderful lunch yesterday at Patten House. Great wine choices, and interesting sandwiches and entrees. We chose their marvelous small plates fare and dessert. Amazing grits I could never duplicate for their flavor...along with superb crab cakes. Jumbo shrimp so large I could only eat 3 of the 6 and that chocolate cake was scrumptious. The historical house was a delight and service impeccable. Just can't say enough about our wonderful experience.More

My wife, my son and I were in there today after a walk in the snow on the prairie path. The food was good as usual and everyone in the place has masks on. I know there are reviews here saying that a number of...people were not wearing masks but every employee we saw had a mask on and people were seated quite far away from others. Good Luck to The Patten House during this rough time. Cheers and thanks for having us.More

Patten House is one of our favorite restaurants. The staff always accommodates us. You can sit outside under the trees and dine in the summer, or you can have lunch on the porch, or sit inside by the fireplace. I love the grilled maple salmon...and my husband loves the ribs. The food has a cajun/Southern vibe. We take visiting family there, but we also go often for a date night.More

I have been looking forward to eating at Patten House since the beginning of the lock-down, so when a nice evening and time allowed, we headed over for an early dinner. We were shocked to find the host, bartenders and most staff without protective masks,...and even more surprised by the look of annoyance when we asked to be seated outside. Already uncomfortable, we were extremely disappointed by the quality of food. The $30+ jambalaya, which tasted a bit like over-seasoned boxed Zatarain's, and contained 2 small shrimp, and prawns with whipped avocado potatoes (which were runny and appeared more like instant than fresh potatoes had far too much avocado), were nearly inedible. We won't be returning.More
