We are a local grassroots craft brewery using only the best of local ingredients...The only brewery in Galena, and the first to return to this historic brewing town in 80 years. We have six regular house brands on tap, and five to six seasonal and guest taps, regular & seasonal brews, best baked wings in Galena, salads and sandwiches menu & desserts. Kids menu too! We have taken strides to ensure that our table and bar service is excellent, and we are happy to report that our customer feedback now consistently reflects that quality. Beer tasting flights and full bar. Football games on 82 inch and 55 inch screens with really cool surround sound. When the game is on...You are THERE man! We also have a 35 seat party room for hire.

Great beer, food tastes good

My wife and I came here to listen to the Kampfire Kings and thought we would grab a bite to eat. The beers they brew are delicious and not a bad value at $5 a pint. The service was OK. While the food tastes good, the portions are not worth the cost. We got the roasted cheese curds, $9, and there were 15 of them, My wife got the Cuban, it tasted good but there was one very thinly sliced piece of ham, one very thin slice of swiss cheese and about a tablespoon full of pulled pork, at $12 this was a rip off. I had the Italian beef, $12, once again good flavor but the portion was very small for the price. We will go back again, we just will not be eating there.

A Mixed Review

We loved eating outside during the phase 3 guidelines. The weather was perfect and the service fast despite a busy Tuesday evening. The pretzel and cheese curds were excellent as was the beer and mai tai. We ordered our burgers medium and they came out more than well done, it was disappointing and I could not eat it. Their cleanliness standards in a pandemic can be improved. I highly encourage all servers to have their masks fully on covering everything, all should have gloves on, not just some employees, and please not pick up cups to refill- ask the patron to hold it down so no more germs are exchanged.

Good beer, appetizers sub par

We stopped here because our daughter and son in law love the beer. Thought we would order some appetizers. Pretty unimpressive. I get that it's a brewery and beer was good but come on...step it up a bit. Pretzel bites were good, cheese curds pretty good but the nachos were a joke. Some skimpy taco chips on a plate, a teeny splatter of cheese and some kind of brownish dip. What added insult to injury, it's like they put in the chips from the bottom of the bag, lots of crumbs. Go there for the beer but eat at Dirty Gurts first.

Good Beer, Downhill from there!

The good - Beer was good and we enjoyed the beer cheese soup. The Bad - We waited at the host stand for close to 10 minutes before someone finally waited on us despite servers walking by and ingnoring us. We watched this happen to others as well, some just left. Our server was pleasant but didn't stop by often. We finished our food while still waiting for our second beer which we could see sitting on the bar. The burger was among the worst we ever had, think leftover meatloaf left in the oven long enough to remove any bit of moisture that could have existed in the meat. Would have been better off getting McDonalds! We did complain and she gave us half off, had she bothered to show up earlier in the meal we probably would have sent it back. Might be a good place to stop at the bar and have a beer but there are too many other good restaurants in Galena to justify eating here

This was my Brewhaus salad. Iceberg lettuce, tomato, and carrots. It looked like they took a head of lettuce, cut it into quarters and served it that way. I had to get a fork and knife to cut it apart. I felt like I was just eating a head of lettuce with ranch drizzled on top. I ate a few bites and pushed it away. At least the Bloody Mary was good.

Family ski trip

My family ate here during a ski weekend. Kathy, the hostess, was very accommodating. We had several small children so she set us up in the front meeting room where we could have some privacy and still hear the music. The food was good and service was too. The adults enjoyed the beer as well!! I will return here on my next visit to Galena.

Our first trip to Galena. Sorry we wasted one of our 3 meals here. Food was fine-typical bar food, but the service was some of the worst we have ever had. The bartenders (yes there were 2 working together to almost completely ignore us) must conduct social experiments where they pick customers to ignore and then see how long it takes for said customers to question their own sanity. My husband and I sat at the bar and were given a beer menu only after asking. Everyone else sitting at the bar received a greeting and beer, cocktail and food menus. We looked up the food menu online instead of trying to get the attention of the bartenders. When we were able to get their attention and place an order they acted very put upon. My first beer sat empty for 15 minutes before one of the two bartenders asked if I wanted something else. Same thing when we tried to pay our bill-it sat on the bar with our credit card for another 15 minutes. There seemed to be a lot of people working and their main job appeared to be eating and drinking in the room just off if the bar. Terrible service. Would not return.

Completely ignored

Heard that they had new owners, so we thought to try them Sunday evening. We arrived at about 5:10 and waited for at least 5 minutes for some one to seat us or even acknowledge us (the restaurant was about 1/3 occupied). I then proceeded to the bar and asked the bartender if we could eat at the bar, she said we could, we sat down and once again was completely ignored ( only 2 other customers were seated at the bar). We waited until 5:25 and left without any staff member ever acknowledging our presence- can’t say service was bad since we didn’t have any at all, not even a hello -

The beer selections are very good. The waiter ( Andrew) a pleasure Not able to separate your checks if with friends without a 18 % gratuity attached to each ticket...This 2022 ...get a system that allows this. Other Galena restaurants do this. Food not that good...Cheese curds came out of a frozen bag? Food doesn't meet the description in the menu. It doesn't help that a "Chef Wanted" is on the front of the restaurant window. Should have know.

Suffering from understaffing

Hard to complain about service when restaurants everywhere are understaffed but I will. One bartender handling all alcohol orders is not enough. We sat at the bar both days we went and had trouble getting a beer both times. Second time we went we got food which was mediocre at best. I was told they were out of fries (?!) so I ordered “beer chips” which were generic chips out of a bag for sure. Just tell me you are out of those too. Food came out quickly. Will try again if we find ourselves in Galena but only if it seems that they have their act together.

Bad customer service.

Tried to buy a beer, have been coming there off and on for 10 years. Could not get waited on. A bartender was eating at the bar and I was evidently not in his work area and he said he would get I belive it was Chris (maybe). I said ever mind and on my way out he mad a derogatory coment.

Underwhelmed

There were only about four tables occupied when we arrived but it seemed to take quite a while to get anything. Nothing outrageous but no one was in a hurry. They were out of several beers so that was pretty disappointing. That said, the beers that we did try were decent. Nothing to write home about but decent. The meal fell apart with the food. One order came out incorrect (wrong side but not worth the hassle of saying anything since I would had to have went to find someone) but all of the dishes were underwhelming. If you’re looking to get a couple of craft brews then I would recommend you stop in but, for anything more, I feel like you’re going to be happier if you eat elsewhere.

OK beers with poor service

Good beers. But the kitchen service was awful. We were there on a Sunday morning. We were the only ones eating at that time. We waited 45 minutes and gave up on our order. If they were swamped, we would have been understanding and gladly waited, but it was NOT the slightest bit busy. I think the staff spent too much time socializing and forgot to put it order in our something. Because seriously wtf! While we sat there waiting, and waiting and WAITING, our server, sashayed all around the place whilst chatting it up with the rest of the staff. Then a second group came in and sat at a table and they were served immediately. That's when we decided to go somewhere else. Dirty Gurdy's had very quick service and amazing foods! I think we got our order within 8 minutes of sitting down at Dirty Gurdy's.

Great Food & Friendly Service

Wife and I stopped by the Galena Brewing Company for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Place was moderately busy at the time of arrival, but most of the lunch crowd seemed to have cleared up by then. Most of the remaining patrons were sitting and having drinks. We were greeted and seated shortly after arriving. Our waiter, although busy with multiple tables, was friendly and attentive throughout our entire visit. He did a good job explaining menu option; both beer selections as well as food choices. Wife tried a flight of six of their brews. We ordered the macaroni bite appetizer to enjoy with our drinks while we waited for our meals. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap and a chicken taco wrap for our main courses, which we shared the other halves with each other. Taco wrap was excellent! The ranch wrap was also good, but I wasn‘t as wowed as I had been by the taco wrap. Fries were baked, which were good but a different taste and texture than I’m normally used to. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food that you get. Portions are decent sized as well. Would definitely return again the next time we’re visiting the Galena area.

Terrible food and horrible service!

Avoid this place. The brews were sub-par and the food was dry and overcooked. We could not even get silverware or napkins or water. Covid protocols are ignored, with no masking even by employees. On top of all this, our server was rude and surly.
