Very uneven. If you order the right food you will be very happy. If not ... The miso soup is some of the worst I’ve ever had. Heavy on chicken stock and flavorless. Most Sushi was ok but the surf clam was rubbery not crunchy....Again worst I ever had. Seem to do ok on most nigiri. Didn’t order any rolls Take out efficient Tempura averageMore

I have had sushi time multiple times and every time the food is delicious. I usually get carry out or delivery. They have lots of sushi options and roll options as well as non sushi options. My favorite rolls are the dragon roll and the...york roll. Their fired rice is also really good, I have had fired rice so many places and it can be greasy and not have that much flavor. At sushi time the fried rice is never greasy and I love it. The app are also really good my favs are the crab rangoon, gyoza and the edamame. I have tried other sushi places in Elmhurst and sushi time is my favorite.More

I've eaten at both Japanese restaurants on York St. in Elmhurst, and although both have good food, this one has larger portions of sashimi. I had sashimi and a CA roll. Both were excellent and the sashimi had generous portions. The service was also good...and the ambiance very nice. My colleagues had equally positive comments. I definitely recommend this place for Japanese food!More

Read the reviews and took a chance, first time ordering - delivery to our hotel. They had a couple of issues delaying the delivery, however were very nice on the phone and the delivery guy was very nice. These things happen. We had soup, gyoza,...spring rolls and teriyaki dinner - chicken and shrimp. The soup and appetizers were superb, the teriyaki chicken while flavorful, the chicken was like jerky, super cooked....... the veggies were perfect! Would definitely order from there again, as they were nice folks and most of the meal was superb.More

A clean, bright, relaxed, and informal atmosphere with good sushi. The other sushi restaurants in Elmhurst are either very small or very dark and more formal. Good overall value.

This place is great! We always have a great experience between service and food. They have a great selection.....they just don't have the best wine selection, but the food and the saki is great. I would highly recommend for suburban fare, especially sushi. We have...tried the others in our area and nothing is as good as Sushi Nest.More

We decided to have take out sushi for the family dinner including spicy tuna rolls, dragon roll, Alaskan rolls and salmon nigiri. Everything was fresh and tasty. The surprise was the Chicken Fried Rice! To satisfy our 5 year old, we noticed there were a...few Thai items on the menu including fried rice. This was the best fried rice we've had in Elmhurst. Nice bonus! Next time we will try the Pad Thai.More

I was a tag-along grandpop on a father/daughter lunch. All three of us had their standard "Tricolor" sushi entre...portions were very large and of excellent quality. Almost couldn't finish it. Be aware that on Sundays the weekday lunch menu( smaller portions) isn't available so you'll...be "forced" to enjoy more sushi. Just take one for the team and enjoy.More

A very nice restaurant with a proprietor who wants to serve the best and knows how to do it. The wait staff was polite and attentive. The sushi is excellent as are the other items. The restaurant is open and very clean. We had a...very nice meal and a wide variety of sushi was offered and was excellent. They also have other menu items, including sweet and sour chicken, teriyaki entries, and more. Recommended.More

Stopped in here based on wanting some sushi and the reviews. Had a sushi roll and the hibachi. The sushi was excellent and very cheap. The hibachi was not good. The chicken was overcooked and the vegetables were under cooked. I would not recommend it...at all. If you come here stick to the sushi you will not be disappointed.More

Stopped in here for lunch with a friend. It doesn't look like much from the outside and is a bit small on the inside. But the food was wonderful. We started with the Gyoza which were very flavorful. I had the Salmon Sushi Lunch and...my companion had the Hibachi Chicken. We were both very pleased with the flavors and with the miso soup, this was a great bargain for lunch. Service was also attentive without being intrusive, which is not easy in such a small place.More

We have been to Sushi Time three times and it keeps getting better. I started out with the hot and sour soup. On a cold and blustery October day, it hit the spot. Full of mushrooms, tofu and other delights, it opened my sinuses and...warmed me up in no time. The sushi is of the highest quality. This was some of the best sushi and sashimi that I have had in a while. Generous slices of sashimi and the rolls have just the right amount of rice. We had the tri-color sashimi platter with a salmon mango roll. Additionally, we ordered an asparagus, avocado & cucumber roll and a shrimp asparagus roll. All of them were excellent! Sushi Time now serves Sapporo beer, plum wine and 4 kinds of sake. I would encourage you to try the sake if you never have. The house hot sake is an easy and cost effective way to experiment. (Once again, this is a great way to warm up on a cold night.) But, the real treat is the cold, unfiltered sake. There is a great deal of variation in sake and a good, unfiltered sake is a real treat. The unfiltered sake served here is $13 and comes in a small bottle that can be easily shared by two. It is subtly sweet and silky at the same time. In summary, the fish is very fresh and the rolls are terrific without going overboard on rice. Although you will likely go for the excellent sushi, the appetizers are excellent as well. With the addition of beer and sake, Sushi Time just adds to a memorable dining experience.More

Full of mushrooms, tofu and other delights, it opened my sinuses and...warmed me up in no time. We shared the soft shelled crab appetizer and this was as delicious as their sushi.
