We’ve been living in the area for a year and of course with COVID we hadnt been able to try all the local restaurants like we’d wanted. At some point i looked up this rest on TA and their reviews were mediocre but we wanted to try them and saw today that they actually have four stars? Not sure if i looked at the wrong place or what but. We walked down and had a late lunch here today. I really just wanted a couple of chicken kabobs and $13 seemed kinda high but it came with fries and soup or salad. So i went ahead and got it. The hubby had a gyro and we shared the salad and fries. There was a lot of food. So much so that we kinda dreaded the walk home in this heat. Anyways the place FELT cleaner than i expected it to, service was friendly and professional, and the food was good. Not exceptional but good enough we’re already talking about coming back. That makes it better than average.

Best “fast food” in the area.

Visit here 3-4 times per month and have never been disappointed. Burgers, gyros, Maxwell Polish, even the salads are very good. Fries are perfect. Proprietor is always there (dude deserves more vacations!) and keeps the place clean and up to date. Good place.

okay place to eat

I just tried this restaurant today. It looks new and nice from the outside but is slightly dirty and old in the inside, it could use some remodeling on the inside. It was also a little on the pricier side of these types of restaurants. It cost me over 20 dollars for 2 gyros and a small fry. Also the gyros where very small and they tasted average, they tasted exactly like the ones I make at home. A positive was that the food came pretty fast. Overall it was an average dining experience.

very good place!

A friend of mine asked me to stop in to this little place after passing by a few times. I stopped in and got myself a gyro yum yum.This place sits on the corner its a locals place too they can get very busy at lunch time they have alot of specials you can dine in but its small or takeout dont miss this one if you want a gyro polish or burger.

Best gyros anywhere

When I visit my son in Arizona he begs me to bring two pounds of gyros plus fixings. Eagle has a varied menu with a soup, few salads and grill items but it’s the gyros that you make a special trip for.

Good, basic, casual!

We love to go to Eagle when we are in a hurry and want something a step above fast food. Great burgers and hotdogs and tasty fries all day long! Prices are reasonable and they have some very reasonably priced numbered meal deals. They even have some tables outside for a nice day.

Best Gyros

The Eagle Restaurant serves mainly standard food from the grill all of which is good. Soups are good too but their specialty is Gyros (starts with an H sound ). I usually buy it by the pound and feast for days.

My boys LOVE this place. They are aficionados of the Chicago Hot Dog stands and local diners. What I like about this place is they are consistent, they do the basics very well, and you rarely have to wait. We have tried most of the menu over the years, and we have never had a bad food experience here. However, this is not haute cuisine, nor for the overly health conscious, but if you are traveling through, it's an inexpensive taste of authentic nostalgia of what made Chicago hot dog stands infamous, and a great local neighborhood place for the rest of us.

Kind and professional staff

Even though it is not our kind of food, it is walking distance from our house. I am a vegetarian and our son is gluten free. My husband does not have a special diet. We were told that the fries are safe but they do have chips as an option. We ordered the burger without bun. Meatless options are grill cheese, a wrap with a lot of mushrooms and a Greek salad, which is great. The staff were nice, professional and food came quickly. Casual atmosphere.

BEST COMBO'S IN CHICAGO

Great food, great service. Quick completion of orders. Been going for 20 years and even through new ownership, I have never had a complaint...Well except that they used to serve beer and because of village and insurance cost he had to quit. But that is a complaint for someone else! Try the Chicken noodle soup...

Tasty hamburgers & brats at the Hinsdale Oktoberfest

The Eagle Restaurant provided tasty food, drinks & snacks at the Hinsdale Oktoberfest last weekend, compliments of the Hinsdale Bank & Trust. The bank provides this feast every year for their customers, friends & the general public, along with a German oompah band. The freshly grilled burgers & brats were absolutely delicious. I picked up one of the Eagle's menus that was stacked on the table & look forward to visiting their restaurant in Downers Grove in the very near future.

Great burgers!

My husband and I have been enjoying Eagle Restaurant's burgers, dogs, beefs, subs and fries for some time now. The food is always fresh and hot. It's clean! The prices are reasonable and the service is always terrific. We will continue to enjoy all they have to offer.

Stopped in and had a good meal. I was expecting a quick meal but took a bit for my food to come, but the onion rings were delicious and a beef sandwich was also top notch. Food is hot and fresh!

Great corner stop

Good food. Good people. Worth a visit! Haven't had a bad meal here and have been here many many times as I live down the street.
