The boyfriend and I visited twice during our weekend away in the peaks and could not fault the customer service one bit! We arrived soon to the kitchen closing but weren't rushed to choose and the food was great! Bar staff were lovely and friendly, telling stories about the area and being welcoming all round. Definitely a place to visit... More

We went on a sunny friday for lunch. Quite a nice atmosphere in a quaint country pub. The beer was OK though nothing special but tastes differ and I know some would love it. We had three medium glasses of wine and a beer which came to just short of £20 which I thought was on the expensive side. We... More

Popped in as we often do for a light lunch, enjoyed the hot sandwich option. The service was excellent and the atmosphere good.

Ate here as part of a groupon deal and very pleased that we weren't presented with a separate menu for our 'deal'. Had to pay a small supplement but as we had the most expensive choice on the menu that wasn't a problem. It's not fine dining but very good, tasty pub grub at a reasonable price in pleasant surroundings.... More

A disappointing meal and staff that did just the minimum. Visited a couple of years ago and was impressed by the menu, the food and the helpful cheery staff. This time we found the menu small and not very interesting and the food basic and expensive. Sorry the Devonshire Arms at Pilsley, we wont be back :(

Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner as part of a package but we thought it was explesive but not overly for what you got. The quality was good but .. we both ordered crab cakes (plural) priced at 7:95. Iit came served on a large plate and I was disappointed as there was only one a few salad leaves and... More

We had a really super meal here. The menu is mainly British classics so there should be something to suit all tastes. The service was very good, attentive but not too intrusive. There is a good choice of wine and the food is really good. A treat!

Small cramped room, stained carpets , dim lighting, needs refreshing. No bathrobes, no body lotion. No phone to ring reception. Just like a 3 star. Food just ok value for over 200 pounds not worth it

Booked for five people on Friday evening. I ordered the retro coq au vin with mashed potatoes and carrots. At £13 I was disappointed to say the least when it arrived. On my plate was one tablespoon of potato, five tiny carrots and a pot containing two small chicken thighs ( skin still on ) swimming in watery 'vin' .... More

We had a wonderful meal at this pub and used their (small) lounge for a nice drink the following night. I thoroughly recommend a pint of the Peak Ales Chatsworth Gold !!
