We has to queue to get a table and this seems to be the norm between 4.30 and 6.30 in the afternoon. Food was excellent, service was good and my wife loved the deep pan pizza, plenty of choice and reasonable prices.

Just go there and try the meaty legend deep dish pizza. Or any thing else on the menu for that matter. You will not regret it.

Gino's blows other deep-dish eateries out of the water in terms of atmosphere and overall experience. The inside of the restaurant is so cool and has so much history. Be sure to check out the wall of fame by the bathrooms. Deep dish pizzas take about an hour and the line to get in can be long, so plan in... More

I wanted a great Chicago style deep dish and I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly, although we felt forgotten a couple of times. The pizza was amazing and did not disappoint. The kids loved the fact they were given markers to "leave their mark" on the walls. Kept them busy during the wait for the pizza. I... More

We went with a group of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) for pizza on a Tuesday in the early evening in mid-April. Despite the fact there were many, many tables available, we were asked to wait until our entire group was present. It wasn't a huge deal as they arrived within a few minutes but it would have been nice... More

We came on a Tuesday night with some friends from out of town who wanted to try deep dish before leaving. This was easily the nicest deep dish I've had in Chicago (though I'm yet to try Lou Minalti's). They allow you to order a large pizza with two different toppings which was great for 4 of us to share... More

We got there on a Friday around a little before 4 and had to wait about an hour. So be prepared for long lines if you go any later. Got the small deep dish for two of us and we couldn't finish it! Food was great and the beer was cheap!

When we lived in Chicago, we enjoyed Gino's East pizza on a regular basis. Now, after a several year absence, it was a joy to discover it was still the best. Order the pizza - you will not regret it.

Pizza was solid but the service was way below expectations. Messed up the beer order, pizza came out before the appetizers. We were traveling with for hungry kids who could really have used the apps! We had to remind the server three times about my daughters fish and chips order. All the way, service was scattered and disorganized and there... More

I heard this was The go to place for deep dish pizza lovers. Well it was crowded. The pizza was awesome. If you've ever wanted to try authentic deep dish pizza, here is where you find it. Go up to the bar, order your favorite cold beer, then, order your favorite deep dish pizza, and enjoy!!! Before you leave, order... More

Description
For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year!

Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan.
Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago.

Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
