It was a cold and wintry day outside. Excepting rain, rest all elements were in a vile mood. The five of us were weary on our feet after walking around in the cold and having endured an open deck boat cruise in the river. Gino's...More

This place was phenomenal. It was a really spunky and creative atmosphere, and the staff was kind. The service was really quick, and it was super fun. The mozzarella sticks were delectable, and came in a nice amount. The pizza was really fresh, cheesy, and...More

Came with a tour group for a reserved dinner. Seating was crowded but worked out ok. The spinach pizza was by far my favorite.

The deep dish pizza was burned and so drowned in tomato sauce as to make the toppings unintelligible. Don't waste your time at this tourist trap.

The crust on this pizza wasn't greasy like some other pizza places, and the filling was very good. Service was good and the decor was family-oriented. Overall very good experience. Be aware of the 45 minute wait for a deep dish, though, so be prepared...More

It had been several years since we dined at Geno's East, and it's still a Chicago favorite for tourists and locals...we arrived early evening on a Sunday night and had no trouble being seated, which is not the norm...four of split a deep dish supreme...More

When I'm in Town with friends/family who have never been to Chicago before this is where I take them. It's a great taste of Chicago. One of my favorite places to go in Chi-town.

Not sure the hate for this pizza place but we enjoyed it. The corn type of crust was pretty tasty and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Don't go. Pizzas average. Drinks are weak. Service is deplorable. Nothing about this place is worth the wait. It's a tourist trap but go to Uno's cuz at least their pizza is still somewhat good.

Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Don't know the hours. But don't think worthy to go there if in busy time. Our last visit, ordered appetizers for waiting for the pizza. Finally, they came with the pizza after an hour. It is not great as ads.

For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year!

Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan.
Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago.

Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!
