We visited Chicago only for the purpose to have dinner in Alinea. My expectations were high, but I was never disappointed. I want to come back very soon .

Went to Alinea in January, the staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. They even help me to get a reservation for their other restaurant "Next". I like the dried scallop with the sweet corn broth, I think that's my favorite. Of course the edible helium ballon was fun. The thai curry I was having a hard time eating, the... More

My husband and I visited Alinea in celebration of our 15th Wedding Anniversary. We have been to many restaurants in our lives and Alinea was, hands down, the best one ever. From decor and atmosphere to impeccable service and staff to food and wine pairings, it was five-stars across the board. We experienced the Asian-influence meal and wine pairing. Each... More

Simply the best experience in Chicago. Author's Cusinne. Is an art experience. Well informed staff about the menu. Expensive but worth. The only problem is to make a reservation, week ahead.

When you arrive there is no sign, it just looks like a plain fronted house. Very intriguing! From start to finish it was a truly unique evening which included some amazing flavours and combinations of different foods and textures. Service was formal but fun, lots of servers bringing the many courses but each with their own personality for a nice... More

Please, understand that our rating is relative to expectations and reputation. Of course, the food was good, the service professional and the room posh in a high-end austere way. Yet, the place had no soul and provided little in delight. Maybe it was an off night and, granted, we could not book the experience downstairs and had to settle for... More

The service and food were spectacular. I don't want to give any of the menu away but each course was different from the next, each with it's own explanation. We were celebrating 2 birthdays, and received "special." It was a lovely evening with a real attention to detail. If is very pricey but for a special occasion it was worth... More

If you've seen Chef's Table S1 and S2, this is the place. It is stage-craft and theater from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. The food is a blinding sequence of endless courses, the staff is eloquent and gracious. It is food and service as intimate theater. It is a giddy bubble to be in, and... More

We'll start by saying, Alinea has exquisite surrounds with superbly trained and attentive staff and having seen the multitude of positive reviews we are obviously swimming against the tide... however we can only say it as we see it... and having been to 30+ Michelin restaurants including numerous 3Stars we must write an honest review. 1. The food was well... More
