Cheezborger cheezborger, no Pepsi, coke, no fries, chips... Great burgers, pickles are delicious and they have great cheap drinks.. Also hole in the wall but it's very very worth checking it.

Wow you cant go to chicago without going to the billy goat. This is underground right under Michigan avenue, dark, a little worn, and an absolute classic. All the workers had the John Belushi accent that you would expect. Unbeknownst to me, I asked if they have fries to go with the double cheezoburger, and the response was in the... More

Some of the best burgers I have ever had with no frills whatsoever. Located below street level and not fancy it is consistently good and fun place to eat. Don't miss it when you're in Chicago.

This place is a great spot for baseball geeks to look at old photos where journalists and sportspersons would hang out back in the day. Food isn't great, the staff aren't the friendliest bunch either. You might want to step in for the experience, probably have a cheezeborger?

A chicago classic...this place is a brief journey back in time. Located on lower Michigan Ave (UNDER the magnificent mile), this place is a perfect spot for a quick burger and beer break. The original retro setting gives it a lot of charm.

Love, love, love the Billy Goat Tavern. No trip into the city is complete without a double borger, chips and a Billy Goat beer. It's definitely one of my all time favorite places. I'll pass on the glitz and glam of the "big name" fancy restaurants for a double cheeseborger any day.

As advertised. The Billy Goat Tavern remains timeless. The must haves consist of; cheezborger, shot and a Shiltz. John Belushi smiles.

If you're reading the review it's because you know Billy Goat Tavern was the inspiration for Saturday Night Live's "Cheezborger, cheeseburger" skit made famous by in the last 1970s. The burgers are OK, the service if friendly, but as a another reviewer mentioned i lacked the personality that had made it famous. Lots of Chicago journalism moments on the walls... More

Went here last night having no idea what this place was. Much to my joy, this is the location that became famous on SNL with the classic Cheezborger Cheezborger Cheezborger skit! It was a flashback to my early watching of SNL and it truly did have a great double cheeseburger!

If you are a visitor to Chicago and a long time Saturday Night Live fan it is worth the visit to have a "Cheezborger" and watch the crew in action with the customers. There is nothing special about the burgers and yes, the patties are thin so order a double. The meal is ok but it is greasy. The atmosphere... More
