Traveled to Chicago for the holidays with immediate (and extended) family and and we were eager to have an official, formal high tea. The offering of different types of teas and sandwiches offered something for the 3-year old girls in our family and the adults. It was a nice end to a family trip to Chicago for the holidays. Palm... If you've read my review of The Drake please know that the Palm Court is located in the hotel. The tea service was excellent and I will return. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was amazing. At the tea service there was a live harpist. Tea selections are plenty and are from Palais De Thes :) Seating for afternoon... More

For somebody who is into the "high tea thing," they would like this - $45 for a cup of tea and some sandwiches/scones is highway robbery however. And for little girls its OK as well, for the discounted price of $20. But for anybody else it will turn into the most expensive snack of your life - you will be... More

I've enjoyed High Tea at other restaurants and in other cities, Palm Court did not live up to the hype. Food was average at best and service was awful. Servers were scarce during our entire visit and we got the impression that they would enjoy their work more if it weren't for the customers. The room was lovely, but almost... More

I wanted to treat my friend and I to this amazing tea experience before hitting the road for 5 hrs and it was the best thing I did for myself. The ambiance was amazing, the service went above and beyond our needs and wants.....the finger food was delicious too......we specified what we liked the most and the waiter kept brining... More

I went with family for the afternoon tea service on Christmas and had a fantastic experience. The food was plentiful and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was lovely, especially with the live harpist. I would most definitely return.

We have had afternoon tea at many fine establishments and booked reservations during our stay at the Drake Hotel. It is a little more expensive than other teas we've had but it was also very elegant. We were seated next to the fountain and there was a harpist playing. There was a decent selection of tea and decent amount of... More

This little corner of the Drake Hotel is a charming little hangout. On certain days during the week, they serve high tea which is patronized by a room full of city matrons, their daughters and granddaughters. High tea is not something you'd expect in Chicago, but it's fun. Warning, the bill can add up once you start adding cocktails to... More

We've gone for tea at the Palm Court several times, two of which have been during Christmas. The decorations are beautiful normally and are even more spectacular at Christmas time. They even have carol singers! The staff, tea, and food have been outstanding every time we've gone. We'll definitely be visiting for tea again!

unlike other reviews I see here, we were extremely unhappy with our Palm Court experience. The food was sparse, bland and slightly stale. Tea selection was ok but nothing marvelous. Crowded noisy surroundings with stiff cheap chairs and hurried servers. Emphasis on quick table turnover. Long lines to check and retrieve coats. A high price for a very mediocre experience....
