First time at the Chicago institution and it was great. The service was impeccable, with a massive slice of humor from the best waiter in town. Great recommendations. Super service, and the steak was amazing. So Tasty. 22oc Chicago Cut. only negative is the cocktail (Jameson & Soda) was in a tiny glass. I didn't have any cake, but they... More

Stopped here for a drink on the way to dinner elsewhere and loved the atmosphere so much we decided to return to eat the following day. The bar is busy, with people seated but also standing. There is space to sit at the piano and listen to the pianist too. We were glad that we decided to return for dinner... More

Best Steakhouse in Chicago. They claim to be in the Top 10 busiest Steakhouses in the US by revenue. Chicago landmark, waiters in white coats, they present an offering of cuts of meat at your table to help you with your choice. Definitely a must stop if u need to cure your carnivore appetite. Hundreds of celebrity pics on the... More

Our business trip to Chicago for the Bar Leadership Institute (BLI) offered the opportunity to enjoy to dine at the historically noted Gibson's on Rush. Pictures of famous guests hang from the walls and within short order it was easy to understand the draw. Delicious roasted chicken, fine cuts of steak, and generous portions of family sides were only upstaged... More

Steaks start at $50, But, each fork tender steak will feed at least two. A single dessert is enough for 3 or 4 hungry people. The Carrot cake is 9 inches high and 1/4 of the cake. Recently 3 of us ate and took home leftovers for $115.00 plus tip. By far the best value I found in Chicago.

Everything you expect from an American steakhouse, gleaming wood, white tablecloths, excellent service. The seafood tower with the crab avocado was outstanding. Chocolate cake ending was also divine. My steak, a sirloin, was a little tough as sirloin is prone to be but given the price was a tad disappointing. Since the starters, the sides (hashbrowns, spinach, mashed potatoes) and... More

I was part of a prearranged group of 20. We were in a lovely back room all to ourselves with our own staff. Since I am no longer a big meat eater, I was concerned with choices. Don't be. While known for steaks, I had the Tuna appetizer as my main and it was large enough. The Brussels Sprouts were... More

First thing we did after leaving airport was to go to Gibson's Steakhouse. I heard about it from a friend that lives there. I had a NY strip and it was so good! Cooked to perfection. Wait staff was incredible. I was done for the day after that. I like going to places that meet your expectations.

Elegant and refined, you will not enjoy a better steak anywhere. Met Sidney Poitier there but I wouldn't trade meeting hem for the steak I had.

Neighbourhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
