Solid as always, steaks and veal are always good. Had the linguine with white clam sauce, very good, plenty of clams.

The Rosebud Steakhouse offered a warm and welcoming comfy spot last Thursday when Chicago nighttime temperatures fell to 14 degrees. I was immediately greeted by the host who hung up my winter coat and quickly ushered me to a table by the front window. I watched as many guests braved the cold to have Rosebud's steaks, pasta, soup and salads.... More
This is an old fashion steakhouse. Big portions, great drinks, over sized veggies and salads big enough to share. The Martinis were prepared just right and the Wedge Salad was of course my choice for a steakhouse and it was so large we had to split it - it is a meal in itself. The Special Filet was delicious and... More
I ordered a hamburger, which was a mistake. I read they have wonderful burgers. Well, my son and his girlfriend ordered steak and fish. Excellent. The place is a bit pricey, but that's steak in Chicago. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the sides were huge. The staff upon entering were great. Very personable and welcoming. The waiter was... More
The Chicago Tribune rates Rosebud Steakhouse's hamburger as the best in the city. But that's not why you come to Rosebud Steakhouse at 192 East Walton Place on Chicago's Gold Coast. Here for breakfast four times courtesy of the nearby Residence Inn which is renovating its breakfast room. The food was good and the restaurant has a dark wood paneled look.
Dining room is dimly lighted, nice atmosphere. The filet was awesome. (Hence my reason for the rating) The overpriced mac & cheese was dry. The chef redid it to make it creamier...still not impressed. And the tiramisu I'll pass on next time as well. Overall it was a nice dinner. Not sure if I'll revisit...we'll see.
Had lunch the other day and the cheeseburger was wonderful; definitely a cut above your normal burger. Great martini's and service is exceptional.
Food and staff were very good. Very old school steakhouse white glove ambiance but not stuffy. They have many options even if don't want beef. Dover sole is down table side which is a lost art and well worth it. Taste were on point. Brussels sprouts are a must also. All in all it was a pleasant experience for everyone.
We dined at this restaurant twice. The room is small and has a clubby feel with waitstaff dressed in tux! The first night we had an excellent waiter and the food was either excellent or good. Since it was close to the hotel and the weather was frightful, we returned another evening. This time the waiter was indifferent and not... More
