We ate breakfast twice during our stay at the Monaco. Food was tasty and reasonably priced, staff was friendly and service was efficient.

We hadn't booked, but there were plenty of empty tables even though it was Saturday night. Some of the empty tables had not been cleared. Service was OK-ish, but not great. Similarly the food. It was OK-ish, but not great. The portion of salmon from the entrees was large, but overcooked and dry. All our main courses were served on... More

Dined here for the first time last evening pre-concert with friends. I'm in Chicago often and have my favorites but decided to try something totally new and I'm glad we did. Truthfully I can't remember what my friends ordered but I did the $39 prix fixe dinner. I had the deviled eggs appy, duck breast and bourbon sauced bread pudding... More

Thanks for your feedback! I'm so glad that you and your friends enjoyed yourselves during dinner. With the prixe fixe deviled eggs, I couldn't agree more. I think it should be at least 3 pieces which would fill the plate a bit more and be more aesthetically pleasing. I'll push that over to our head chef. Next time you're in... More

Drinks a tad expensive but many selections of local beer, this was the perfect setting after a long day of sightseeing. The ambience is delightfully warm and welcoming. Apparently an after work Bar, it's full but not noisy. The food was distinctive and tasty! It's definitely worth a visit!

Just around the corner from our hotel is the restaurant. A sunny Sunday morning before we left town, we had a good table with a view of some beautiful old ornate office buildings. The service was not very prompt, but once there they were friendly. We chose from a very small and not to interesting menu. We chose the salmon... More

Nice surroundings. I had a cobb salad and the portion was very generous. Great taste. Friend had a sandwich (forgot name) and the portion was more than generous. Prices reasonable also. This was my second visit.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Monaco for a week this summer while visiting my sister in Chicago. On our first night, we stopped in here for some appetizers and drinks before heading out for a sunset cruise! Our waitor, Jack (also my sons name!) was great! He was very attentive, pleasant and answered many questions we had! We... More

The restaurant is open and loud. The service was good as was the food, not great. It is probably a better bar than place to eat. It is close to the river and in the middle of downtown.

Researched the restaurant before we arrived to the city. Looked forward to the bread pudding dessert and dinner was amazing too! The service was quite attentive and just right. Was such a close walk to the Chicago Theater which is what brought us to the city. I had the salmon with black rice. This was the most amazing dish! Layer... More

Thank you so much for your review Trisha! I'm so happy to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your time with us. I'm also glad that you fully experienced the black rice in the salmon dish. Its so rich and flavorful and I feel it gets skipped over at times. And we don't have a "smoking room" (thank god)... More
