About
In 1943, on the corner of Ohio and Wabash in downtown Chicago, Uno Founders, Ike Sewell and Ric Riccardo, created the original and legendary Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza. They combined authentic Italian recipes with the finest meats, spices, vegetables and cheeses and baked them in a unique and delicious deep dish crust, creating a hearty pizza like no other. Today, Uno’s Deep Dish Pizza is still made as it was then, with dough made fresh daily, hand stretched and covered with meats, hand-cut vegetables and freshly shredded mozzarella cheese. We put that same attention to detail in all our menu items, including pasta, salads, burgers, steaks and seafood and our new Love All, Feed All™ menu – which includes our 600-calorie-or-less Uno De-Lites, as well as our Gluten-Sensitive, Carb-Conscious, Vegetarian and Vegan offerings. So come by and let us help you create memories with your family and friends at Uno.

We came in early to our reservation and our table was not ready yet so the hostess suggested we pre-order our deep dishes which we gladly did. After 15 min (on time for our reservation) our table was ready and we were told our pizzas will be ready in 25 minutes. Perfect we thought. Only they didn’t get out till 50 minutes later.
Our appetizers included a salad which came with the wrong dressing (and minimal dressing at that) and garlic bread (not that garlicky, most dough and cheese on top).
The pizza seems to be a case where they were the first and others have improved since all of us agreed on all our 3 pizzas that we had better during our stay in Chicago.
But worst was the service. Our waitress was clueless and mostly not to be found. And when we were 80% done with our food we got the feeling of being pushed out - suddenly she started hovering around our table.
Will not return.

I was in Chicago to complete a medical residency but had arrived late on a Thursday and was hungry. I walked over to Numero Uno pizzeria but they were full and they directed me down the street, one block over, to their sister restaurant Numero Due (pizzeria due).
It had a nice large patio and spacious interior filled with lots of memories of old Chicago.
Service was slow but friendly. I ordered the deep dish Uno Pizza (their signature dish) and was told it may take 40 minutes to bake and I was OK with the wait.
I am sure glad that I did. This was a unique experience. Delicious, full of flavour and a really different pizza experience than I was expecting.
Really happy I came here and will endeavour to repeat this experience again in a future visit to Chicago.

As it was our first visit to Chicago we thought we had to try deep dish pizza and decided to try Uno or Due which claim to be the original. Uno was full but we were able to book a table at Due. Just as well we did. When we arrived there were people everywhere queueing.
We walked past them to let the restaurant know we had arrived which illicited many comments from those who thought we were jumping the queue. The waitress gave us a menu and took us to our table about five minutes later, which was at about the time we had booked.
As the pizzas are made to order there's about a 40 minute wait from ordering. We had a shrimp and crab deep to start, which was very tasty, and a medium "numero uno" their original pizza. Undoubtably the best pizza I have ever had and I've had loads in Italy and Southern France. We couldn't finish it and took the two remaining slices back to the hotel for lunch the next day. It was also good cold.

Great authentic deep dish. Very nice atmosphere & waiter (John?) was excellent. It takes 40 minutes for a deep dish pizza to cook & he made a point of putting that order in right away. I had never had deep dish before & I can see that it is not for everyone. Expect that it will not be like some chain pizza stores.

Visiting Chicago for the week, me and my husband were looking for great pizza downtown. We went to Pizza Due, we were greeted by a very rude hostess which immediately gave us a negative impression of the restaurant. There was a 30 minute wait, we decided to try the pizza anyway and put in our order and sat at the bar. Another couple came and they were treated rudely and unprofessional by the hostess also. We were finally seated at a tiny high top table that was almost the size of our 16 inch pizza. Asked to see manager, told her about her disrespectful hostess,we ate our pizza, it was good but we won't be back.

Whenever we crave pizza, we always head to this pizzeria in Chicago. The pizza here is simply the best we’ve ever had. The crust is perfectly crispy, the sauce is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are always fresh and generously applied. We’ve tried several different pizzas, and each one has been amazing.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff is always friendly and attentive, ensuring that we have a great dining experience every time we visit.
If you’re in Chicago and looking for delicious pizza, pizzeria Due is a must-visit. We highly recommend it!

This has been my go to for years. I think the ovens matter, and those that cook matter. Ingredients of course, but this has been a reliable venue for me. Is it better than Uno down the block? It might be. Lous the sauce can be sloppy, Ginos crust not as flavorful, Giardano is kind of a different thing. So, Due has been reliable, and I like the like the little basement bar.

Best deep dish in Chicago! Pizza is excellent, I really like the cornbread style crust and sauce. The sauce is no nonsense, just straight up tomatoes and spices. My favorite Chicago pizza-coming from an Italian born and raised in Chicago!

We couldnt go to Chicago for the day and NOT have a proper deep dish pizza.
Searching online found out about Pizzeria Uno, but couldnt get a table, but was able to book the sister restaurant, next door almost, without issue.
We got there a bit early, but was able to get our table easily. We were going to ring in advance to order our pie, but as early thought would just wing it. It wasnt a problem to do this.
Our server was so attentive, and i dont think our drinks were ever more than half drank before being refilled.
We chose 3 deep dish small pizzas for the table, 4 adults and 1 excited child. This proved to be MORE than enough for us, and we had slices to go home with.
The pizzas were just so thick with topping and flavour. The crust was almost like quiche which was not a bad thing.
Would so recommend eating here if in the city

I have never given a bad review. We were seen as an inconvenience as soon as we turned up. We booked for 5.30pm and were told they couldn’t do this. So we agreed to buy a drink and wait at the bar. Only for another family to be seated before us and then told we had agreed to eat at the bar which we had not - only to wait for a table. The lady then said again that we had agreed to eat at the bar and was very rude and dismissive. I honestly have never experienced anything like this. So we left sadly as on our food tour we had tried their pizza and it was very good and we wanted to share that with the rest of our family. The worst service I have ever experienced.

We went for dinner. We hade a deep dish pizza and a meatball appetizer. I'll start with the good. Service was good. Meatballs were really good. BUT the sauce was NOT good, as if it hadn't been cooked. The pizza also had the sauce which was very disappointing. Needless to say pizza wasn't good and crust was overcooked. Too bad, I've previously had good food here.

We were with family visiting from Europe and high on their list to try was Chicago Pizza. I personally love their crust on the deep dish pizzas. We all felt that the tomato topping was a little heavy but several different pizzas were enjoyed. Over-all it was a good experience and because it was a late lunch - early dinner, they were not busy. Service was good.

We lived in Chicago and have eaten lots of deep dish pizza. Due's is hands down the best. The crust tastes like cornmeal and the tomato sauce is complex. There is a perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. The caesar salad was good. The service definitely could have been better.

We tried Chicago pizza by chance, the famous Deep Dish pizza and it's really excellent here! Don't expect Italian pizza but it's a specialty not to be missed! The veggie is amazing! It's very filling... With a large one you can eat in 4. In my humble opinion, here it is much better than the pizzeria that boasts its invention. It takes a little patience because it has to stay in the oven for about 40/45 minutes so be patient and know that you won't regret it.

Established in 1955, the pizzeria and bar is a great establishment across from Trader Joe’s and was so good. Deep dish is a 45 minute cook time and they also have a thin crust in about 5-10 minutes. We really liked the atmosphere, service was really good and the food was fantastic. We ordered the house salad, vegetable tray and the vegetarian deep dish. The house dressing was a vinaigrette that was just enough and not too much for the salad. The tray had hummus, ranch dip and broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, zucchini, squash, cucumber and green bell pepper. There are several deep dish pizza options. We found this one to be excellent. Soft drinks are Pepsi products. Uno and Due are the same ownership is my understanding and a block apart.
