Let's be honest. You came to Chicago for the deep dish. Yeah, maybe you are visiting family, shopping on the Magnificent Mile, taking in the sights atop the tower formally knows as Sears - but what you really came for was three little words. Deep. Dish. Pizza.
Look no further than Giordano's. I came with the intention of trying the best local deep dish and a family member- who happens to be a Chicago native- proudly led the way to this heavenly pizza haven. Bear in mind, it's popularity garners quite the crowd so we did have to wait about half an hour for a table when we visited on a random weekday evening (which could be much worse). However, fear not hungry friends because they have this whole pizza business down to a science. Although we had to wait about 30 mintues to be seated, we were told the deep dish pizza pies take about 45 minutes to cook. Rather than wait a total of an hour and 15 minutes before eating, they allowed us to place our pizza order while we hung out waiting for a table to open up. Excellent idea and greatly appreciated! When we were finally seated our pizza came out within 20 minutes.
And it was absolutely delicious.

The apparent go-to place on the Magnificent Mile for Chicago Deep Dish pizza, Giordano's was a good experience, but I'm not sure I'd come back for the food. The pizza crust was dark brown and hard, which I had not anticipated. The cheese was excellent as advertised. Other toppings were OK, but not especially generous considering the >$25 price for a small pie. The wait time of 40 minutes is reasonable, since pies are made to order, but not all customers will find it an advantage, nor will all love the huge TVs that dominate the dining room.

We went to the location on the Mag Mile. You check in for a table and while you wait, you order your pizza so by the time you get to your table, you only have to wait 15 minutes before it comes. My hubby had the individual deep dish. My daughter and I split a thin crust meatball and garlic. It was the best. I am still thinking about it. We also had the sampler app. Their marinara that comes with the mozz sticks is too die for! The table next to us asked for a side bowl of that sauce to dip their pizza in...GENIUS! They have parking right out front. I have been to that location before, and I will be back!

They run out of ingredients and they do not tell you until it is served and YOU realise it. Btw it takes 1 HOUR to make a pizza, I particularly wonder why. Additionally, it is very cold inside and they insistently refuse to lower the ac. Never coming back again, just a very bad restaurant with a very bad service.

Best Deep Dish Pizza in my life 10/10
All the places for Giordannos are always full but I love that while you wait for a table you can pre order the pizza that way as soon as you sit no longer than 20 minutes the HUGEEEE pizza is infant of you.
Pro tip: a normal pizza cost $25 bucks an a regular person eats 2 slices, the smaller pizza has 6 slices, the magical number will be 3 per pizza, if you are going with your lady believe me you will get the box to go.
I will come back for sure to Chicago, JUST TO EAT PIZZA.

The only thing I can say is amazing! My friend and I both decided to try their famous deep dish pizza after seeing The Bean. Our waitress was so nice and she thoughtfully suggested an appetizer to come out first since the deep dishes take so long to cook and we were so glad she did. That was proabbaly the best pizza I have ever eaten! Thank you for the delicious meal and great vacation experience :)

We ordered Giordano’s while being stuck on the tarmac in Aruba. After spending 8 hours on a flight coming to your hotel with pizza only a few minutes away, it mellows you out fast. The pizza was warm and delicious and gave us a slice of Chicago on our lay over !

Chicago is known for their Deep Dish Pizza. You can get them throughout Chicago at a variety of restaurants. In my opinion, i like Giordano’s the most. The service is great, and the deep dish pizza is great. If you are travelling solo, better get the individual ones, because the small one is actually filling enough for 3 people. The Meat & more meat is my favorite.

This particular location is perfect for anyone that's looking to take a quick break from the Mag Mile area without having to stray too far away. I wish we knew that we could order our food ahead of when our table would be ready, as we wound up getting our table quickly and then proceeded to order/wait for our food. The menu states that any deep dish orders take around 45 min to prepare. Sadly, we ended up waiting for closer to 70-80 minutes. The Giordano's Sampler did a decent job of holding us over while we waited though, namely the Boneless Chicken Nuggets and Mozzarella Triangles (both were solid). The Cheesy Garlic Bread wasn't that good, however, as it was a little too strong in garlic flavor and borderline stale. The pizza itself, a mix of beef/onions/jalapenos, was pretty tasty. The overall ratio of cheese, sauce, and toppings was pretty great, but the actual pizza crust was just ok.

I am an Italian girl from philly and used to very thin Neapolitan pizza. I was recently in Chicago with some friends that really wanted to try it so I figured why not. We got there somewhat early on a Saturday so it wasn't crazy packed, but by the time we left it was a full wait. The pizza is very heavy and we ordered 2 different types- honestly wasn't super impressed with either- just ok, felt they were lacking flavor, and the flavor is made up in the thick bread like crust. For me this was a check off the bucket list.

Not impressed with deep dish pizza
In defense of the restaurant went in ordered two thin crust pizza on there happy hour menu
Personal pizza that come with fries. I ordered with sausage wife ordered pepperoni. 2 deep dish pizza came that the server says are pretty made and wait on a warmer. After opening boxes we saw they were both deep dish and we ordered thin crust. Server was busy and we had to be at Sears tower in 35 mins so we started eating. Fries were terrible and we only had one piece of pizza each and left the rest my wife liked her salad. Not a good lunch I was expecting better. I didn’t say anything paid tipped and left. Server asked you didn’t like fried. Then saw both our pizza only had one piece missing he didn’t say anything.

The food was a lot better at this location than some of the other locations we have tried, particularly the ones in the suburbs or outside Chicago. The service is really good too. The apparent owner of this location, wearing a suit, went to the tables including ours to make sure that our experience was great. I even got a pat on the shoulder.

I've had their pizza a few times and I must say it's pretty damn good but this time I chose wings and a salad.
I had the half buffalo, half bbq cooked well done with ranch and a caesar salad.
Salad and wings were great!
Heres what I didnt know... they sale their pizzas pre-made and frozen so you can take them home with you, living in Ohio I'm taking at least 3 home when I leave.

We were recommended by a friend to have Chicago-style pizza on our visit to the City. He also suggested, despite many other options, that we try Giordano’s.
As luck would have it, our hotel (near Cloud Gate) was almost opposite their Michigan Ave branch, that had a wonderfully secluded outside seating area (in a square away from the noise of Michigan Ave).
The service was friendly and excellent, the beer was very tasty (as recommended by our server) and the pizza was as recommended - very tasty and incredibly filling!
We shared a small pizza (and still didn’t finish it!). Also, take your time. The pizzas are so deep, they take 40 minutes or so to cook, so we shared an appetiser and had a few drinks - nice and relaxed.

This is a a MUST when coming to Chicago!! It is quite honestly the BEST pizza ever! It is one of my favorite restaurants! There are lots of locations around Chicago which makes it convenient- it is a local chain. The deep dish is amazing and enough to share! My daughter always gets pasta and enjoys it as well. Just know that goodness takes a long time to make and it takes 45 minutes from the time you order for your deep dish to arrive!!
