Last night my husband and I went to Takito Kitchen for our first time because it was my birthday and I LOVE tacos and other Mexican food. Although we live about 1 mile north, we love walking down to Division St because of all the...great restaurants with outdoor dining on the wide sidewalks. We loved the food at Takito! The Hamachi seviche was delicious and unlike any ceviche we've ever tried. My husband said the carne asada tacos were the best he's ever had and he's tried a lot! I had the the fish tacos and they were delicious and unique as well ! The margaritas were so good! I had spicy pineapple and my husband had traditional with a spicy twist. Our servers were very friendly and helpful. Since my husband had mentioned it was my birthday they surprised me with a happy birthday sparkler, strawberry shots and a fun rendition of happy birthday. Overall it was a great experience and we will surely return soon! Thank you!More

A hidden treasure! So happy I stumbled upon Takito, the food and drinks are to die for and the staff always make you feel like you’re among family. Definitely recommend the lamb and pork belly tacos. Pro tip: order the exclusive apple pie margarita!!! The...server Kat and hostess Gina welcome everyone with a smile and take care of you from the second you enter until you’re out the door delightfully full ❤️ Takito is a Chicago staple for modern mexican food!More

We booked on a Wednesday evening on a recent visit to Chicago and absolutely loved it! Having had a big lunch we thought sharing a few tacos would be perfect, but because they were so tasty, it's hard not to be tempted to have more....To start we had their version of guacamole with pine nuts with chips and it was one of the best I have had. Then onto tacos. The crispy fish in hibiscus tortilla tasted as good as it looked. The barbecoa beef was also fantastic, but my favourite was the special of the day; fried chicken tacos! Don't skip on the cocktails - they are good. We asked the waitress what she recommended based on what our taste preferences were and I had a tasty margarita and also amezcal for the first time. It's a little bit off the beaten track in the Ukrainian Village but not too far from Wicker Park. Definitely worth a little detour for good food, cocktails and service.More

Small yet cozy and comfortable Mexican restaurant in easy-to-access location (Wicker Park). We celebrated a friend’s birthday (party of 8) and had a tasty and festive experience. Service was attentive yet not overbearing. House margaritas are good – not too sweet, good tequila. Caliente margarita...was a flavorful and smoky surprise of a delicious drink – I’d go to Takito Kitchen just for this cocktail. Dinner was delicious. Favorites included the crispy fish tacos (yummy with a good balance of crunch and flavor), shrimp ceviche, and a special taco of slow-cooked, shredded beef that was cooked in a sauce that included coffee (a very, very light flavor which blended nicely with the meat and heat). For dessert we enjoyed the flan and coffee – sweet ending to a tasty and festive celebration.More

In Ukrainian Village, one of many small restaurants with indoor/outdoor seating this place was immensely satisfying. Sitting outside with friends on a shared picnic table, the decor is attractive, a comfortable aesthetic, without being too-anything cutesy. I’d recommend: Tamarind/cilantro margarita, to share: The tomatillo pistachio...salsa, avocado pine nut dip, (great chips) the lamb and fish tacos (incredible full flavor and a colorful presentation .) wonderful.More

Great place for brunch! They have $10 unlimited mimosas on the weeks and they are great!! Also there food menu is great and very affordable. Bonus- they take reservations, unlike so many other brunch places in Wicker Park.

We def will be back. However I need for the hostess (tonight) to let customers sit where they are comfortable and not push people to sit where "she" would sit. The food is gluten free which is a bonus. Ingredients is fresh down to the...lime wedges. We had fried chicken tacos, pork belly tacos and fish tacos. They were all delicious. Joey was a fantastic server. Variety of music in the back ground, which was enjoyable. They have a great weekday specials. Be back to try their margaritas and other food items. Need to mention that the owner was personable, introduced himself and ask which taco I enjoy the most.More

This is a wonderful neighborhood spot. Food literally melts in your mouth the service is the best I've seen anywhere in Chicago. A great selection of drinks and they're made right across from you with an open bar area. The shuffle come out when it's...not busy and check on the guest the owner does the same thing. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in I'm confident you'll come backMore

I tried the chicken all pastor tacos, seasoned and assembled nicely on hibiscus tortillas. Had hearts of palm salad, awesome. The Agua Fresca flavored cucumber beverage was nice and refreshing. Good chips along with three salsas and escabeche. Interesting experience, good customer service and I...will go back.More

Food was fresh and well done. Mexican traditional offerings but with updated combinations. Margaritas were yummy as well. Good cocktail selection. Smallish beer selection. Casual place to grab a bite with friends. The owner came over to our table and was very nice thanking us...for stopping in and inviting us back. The waiters were attentive and took time with us to help us decide since it was our first time there. Will go back. Would recommend. They have a second location called Bar Takito in West Loop which I hope to try soon.More

Wow. I was blown away by the amazing taste of these tacos. We simply asked the very nice waiter to select a variety of tasty tacos for us to try. He chose well! The flavors are amazing. Every taste is unique. These are NOT your...late night generic meat tacos! These are fine dining sophisticated flavors. Nick the waiter/bartender was extremely friendly and chatted with us and explained the food to us. Thanks Nick!More

You have to be open minded. I you are looking for typical Mexican/American food you will not find it here. The chips are not typical tortilla chips but more like a flat, thin cracker served with 3 diff salsas (all very good). Interesting flavors in...their margaritas...I believe the last time I had a watermelon one that had a pickled watermelon hanging off the side which was remarkably good. We had a variety of tacos which were well crafted. LOVED the fish the best. It was a very quiet as we were there pretty much right at 5pm. I would definitely go back again.More

We went for a Sunday Brunch, made reservations, they even called the day before to make sure we were still coming, with a Street Fair in front with a thousand people, we figure it must be like a holiday rush, Thanksgiving or Christmas, but to...our surprise there was no one inside, nada, when we got there, and only a few tables filled outside?? Bookend by adjacent sports bars that were packed? Go figure what hipsters do on weekends, still odd compared to our grand “Check Please” prelude. As for our food and service, both were excellent. We had, and traded, the crispy fish and coffee braised beef tacos. Three at $12 was enough to make a meal for us. The Margaritas are strong, good thing, the beer list long, but nothing on tap, kind of sad.More
