We love going to Hash House it has so many entrees to choice from on the extensive menu. I especially like the Chicken with Waffle and The Andy’s Sage Chicken. This is great for groups of families as well as couples. It is located in a great neighborhood and a gold coast must for brunch.

We skipped the Saturday late-morning line and snagged two seats at the bar. Wanted to try an adult beverage, and the friendly bartender gave us a generous sample of a unique liquor. We thought the "man vs food" Sage Fried Chicken Benedict would be enough to share, but we decided that the pancakes sounded too good pass up, so we... More

This review is in no way reflective of the food- the food's great! Huge portions and completely delicious! However, I've gone a couple of times and each time the service has been, well, there was no service to be had. Our server disappeared, someone threw a couple glasses of water on our table in passing after twenty minutes, a different... More

Large portions, consider splitting a meal if you don't want leftovers. I had the mango coconut flap jack and it was the size of a large frisbee, didn't fit on the plate. I couldn't finish it but it was delicious!

Do not bother. The hostess was extremely rude. The service was sub par. The portion sizes are too large and the food quality was mediocre! If you think they serve hashbrowns, think again its just in the name. Disappointed is an understatement.

Sunday brunch we were in the quest for the best bloody mary and started off here. Long wait & no reservations, you cant call ahead so dont bother. Bartender & manager personable. BLT bloody mary had a great tomato mix but the presentation failed us. Service was not great. Left without being seated. Would not suggest for a bloody mary.

Gotta admit the name got me there. The breakfast is absolutely amazing! As the name implies there are several hashes served with scrambled, poached and fried eggs. There are several "scrambles" that are served with Chicken, pork, salmon, you name it. We have been back several times since just to try out all the selections on the menu. It will... More

Just off Division and State, we were more than pleasantly surprised by our breakfast. Portions are huge and tasty, Great potatoes to go along with the eggs, and the bacon is out of this world.

We haven't had a bad breakfast at Hash House. I ordered the meat loaf with mashed potatoes and two eggs. Great meatloaf. Hubby ordered the chicken egg benedict and it was huge and so good.

My husband and I decided to hit up brunch. When we arrived, we decided to sit at the bar. We then watched the bartender do everything, but greet us for about 5-10 minutes. We then waited a while for him to come back, so we could order. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and my husband ordered the chicken fried... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighbourhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
