Did extensive research for some good eats in Chicago and man did I hit the jackpot. This place is AMAZING! Their handmade pasta is sooo good, the cocktails are delish and service was over the top, although I forgot our server’s name bc I am doing this review three months after the fact. We brought our own bottle of wine and I forget what the corkage is, but I’m pretty sure it was not over $25, bc I usually try not to bring my own wine if corkage is too pricey.
I would totally recommend this restaurant. It’s great for a date night, girls’ night or even a family outing.

This was my 4th visit to Olio E Piu! I met my daughter there for her birthday lunch and we took advantage of the lunch special. The menu reminded me of a Prix Fixe menu you would find during Chicago Restaurant Week. There were three choices for a starter and three choices for the main entrée. The portion size was perfect for lunch and the $32 price tag you just can’t beat. Plus, they have lunch drink specials as well!
The starters were our favorites! The pear salad & focaccia were absolutely delicious! For our entrées, we ordered the pan seared chicken and spaghetti which were very tasty as well. 😋
The interior of this restaurant is absolutely stunning & they have added a beautiful outdoor dining area for the summer. It is a whole vibe! 🪴
Service was very attentive as well. They very kindly brought my daughter a complimentary dessert to celebrate her special day🍨

Hello,
Thank you so much for celebrating your daughter's birthday with us and for your continued support! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our lunch special and found it reminiscent of Chicago Restaurant Week prix fixe menus. It's fantastic that you loved the pear salad, focaccia, pan-seared chicken, and spaghetti.
We're thrilled that you found our interior stunning and enjoyed our beautiful outdoor dining area. It's wonderful to hear that our service was attentive and that we could make your daughter's day even more special.
We look forward to welcoming you both back to Olio e Più soon for another delightful dining experience!

A beautiful authentic Italian restaurant with open-kitchen concept, rustic vibes, and authentic Italian cuisine. We ordered the Prosciutto e Melone & Carpaccio di Polipo for apps, Stinco Maiale Alla Birra & Fettuccine Allo Scoglio for main courses, and for dessert we had their amazing Tiramisu, exotic Panna Cotta, & Chocolate Gelato! Service was impeccable, food was served quickly - this location is BUSY, so make sure you make a reservation! Perfect for your next date night!

When we first arrived across the street we were already made sure to have a great time due to the ambience of an open environment with an indoor/outdoor feel and the decor of the restaurant. Not only was the staff friendly upon arrival but they were intuitive on our needs and the timing of the dinner. The restaurant was very busy as it was a Friday night but my partner and I felt catered to 100% and Alex Rivera was such master of his craft in curating an amazing meal. The branzino is a standout and we highly recommend it to all! No worries...while I rave about the branzino, it doesn't take away from how amazing our other courses were such as the bruschetta, the calamari, the steak, and their delicious desserts. We are so happy to have another amazing restaurant join the neighborhood and not only will we tell our friends about it, we will also tell anyone they will listen. Thank you for an amazing evening! It's one we will never forget!

Olio E Piu is the latest Italian restaurant to join the ever increasing number of outstanding Italian ristorantes to find a home in Chicago. Established in 2023 and located at 445 North Dearborn Street in the city's bustling River North community, it is an authentic trattoria with a cuisine based on classic Italian dishes with a focus on house-made pastas and such time-honored favorites as Caprese salad, fritto misto and tiramisu. Open from 11 to midnight Monday through Friday and 10 to midnight on Saturday and Sunday, executive chef Danilo Galati, executive pastry chef Jean-Baptiste Scordel and bartender Tim Williams have turned the 5,172 square foot space with an open kitchen and custom pewter-topped bar into a popular dining destination. It is a showcase for classic homestyle Italian cooking. And the interior looks the part with lime-washed walls, framed artwork, soaring ceilings, fresh greenery, floral motifs, large windows, antique chandeliers and vintage Italian posters. I became a fan from the moment I saw Branzino listed on the menu. The meaty but tender and tasty Mediterranean sea bass is grilled with roasted fennel, heirloom tomatoes, basil, olives and capers and served with marble potatoes and sauteed broccoli. Meanwhile, my wife chose beef filet with gran padano cream over mustard with string beans and marble potatoes. Earlier, we started with bruschetta with bread croutons, tomato, basil and burrata cream, fresh mortadella with fontina cheese and arugula, Caesar salad with Romaine lettuce, confit apple, parmigiano, anchovy and croutons and Caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella, pickled eggplant, basil and green olives. For dessert, we shared a portion of tiramisu with a portion of vanilla bourbon panna cotta with pineapple and passion fruit sauce. Add Olio E Piu to the list of top 10 Italian restaurants in Chicago.

My husband and I decided to go here for my birthday dinner. It was a Friday night and the place was packed. It was incredibly noisy. You could not possibly have a conversation without yelling. We ordered the caponatina which was the best I've ever had I just wish there had been some bread with it other than the three little triangles of toast they give you. When we first sat down we were brought some bread and oil and some olives. The bread was stale my husband enjoyed the olives. Our pasta dishes were good I wouldn't say the best I've ever had but decent. My husband got the tiramisu for dessert and there was so much cocoa powder on it he couldn't taste the rest of it. I got the panna cotta which would have been good if it wasn't so bitter. It was a pricey meal but we couldn't wait to eat and get out of there because it was so obnoxiously noisy. I suppose if you're into that sort of thing then you would enjoy it otherwise I cannot recommend.

This is one of my fave spots for Italian food in the city, I have been three times and each time has been fantastic! The service is great and the food is even better. They have delicious yet simple Italian food, and the price is very reasonable for the location and portions. Their Carne e Formaggio boards are always my fave way to start, and the Carpaccio di Polipo and the Fritto Primavera appetizers are great! The Caccio e Pepe pasta is one of my fave pastas there and the Pork Shank entre is to die for! And don't skip on the Tiramisu for dessert! Love that they have a new patio for outdoor dining this summer, and can't wait to come back and try their new Prix Fixe Lunch menu, such a great deal for only $32!

If you want to feel like you're in Italy while staying in Chicago, you must check out Olio e Più, a beautiful open-air restaurant in River North!
The interior is gorgeous, and the patio seating is perfect for soaking up the last bits of warm weather. We started with complimentary bread and cocktails, which were a great start to the meal.
All of the dishes were incredibly fresh and delicious, but the star of the show was definitely the carbonara—cooked to perfection and tasted exactly like the one I had in Italy. The beef filet was also amazing, tender, and cooked just right.
For dessert, we couldn't resist trying the exotic panna cotta, which came with a pineapple and passion fruit sauce. And of course, we had to finish with their gelato—it’s a must-try!
Highly recommend Olio e Più for a true Italian dining experience in the heart of Chicago. Can't wait to go back!

It was our last day in Chicago and we had high expectations for this place since they have soo many good reviews. The place itself is aesthetically pleasing and very pretty. For drinks I got an Estate Love which was fresh and well balanced. For starters we got the Salmon Crudo which was good but nothing special.
Our big disappointment was the pasta, we ordered a Carbonara and a Cacio e Pepe, it had absolutely no flavor, it was pale and overcooked. Tasted like water and cream. How can you mess up classic Italian pastas? For dessert we got the Chocolate Sphere but sauce was cold and didn’t melt the sphere, it was ok. I don’t know if there was something going on in kitchen but all servers seemed confused, bringing wrong dishes to tables next to us, taking forever to bring food and drinks. I don’t think it was worth it, wouldn’t go back.

Hello Isabela,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m sorry to hear that your visit did not meet the high expectations you had, especially on your last day in Chicago. While I'm glad you enjoyed the ambiance and the Estate Love cocktail, it’s disappointing to learn that the pasta dishes fell short of what you were hoping for.
We take pride in our Italian classics, and it’s concerning to hear that the Carbonara and Cacio e Pepe lacked flavor and were overcooked. I will definitely pass along your feedback to our kitchen team, as we are committed to improving every aspect of our menu.
I also apologize for the confusion with the service and delays you experienced. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We will work on better communication and efficiency among our staff to ensure a smoother dining experience for all our guests.
Thank you again for your feedback. I hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future, as we would love the opportunity to provide you with a meal that truly reflects our standards.
Sincerely,
Stefan

Their dishes starting from the salads to desserts are delicious and great portion for the price you pay. Their Espresso Martini was just the best💯I personally ordered fish and it was delicious. The atmosphere was definitely super nice and so friendly staff. 💯 recommend to visit this place if you want to experience the Italian cuisine and delicious drinks. Oh and lastly, their dessert was yummy especially the blueberry torta. Definitely will be visiting again☺️

This was an amazing experience. They did everything they could to make us feel looked after - including being proactive about dietary redirections in our party. Our server, Josune, was absolutely amazing, attentive, and a complete delight. I can’t wait to come back!

A few nights back, my daughter and I enjoyed dining at Olio e Piu, an Italian restaurant in the heart of Chicago. The décor of the restaurant was a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional charm.
Large windows let in natural light during the day, while in the evening, the space transforms into an intimate setting ideal for a romantic dinner or a cozy gathering with friends. Olio e Piu had beautiful and comfortable outdoor seating surrounded by big plants.
The food was spectacular. Each dish was a masterpiece, crafted with care and authenticity that captures the true essence of Italian cuisine.
The experience wasn’t just about the food; Anthony gave us impeccable service, and the cozy atmosphere made us feel like we were having a meal in a small Italian village.
The menu was a delightful mix of traditional dishes and creative modern twists.
These are some things we tried there:
Appetizers:
Carpaccio di Polipo (Octopus carpaccio, lemon dressing, cherry tomatoes, olive tapenade, chive oil)
Burrata e Pesche (Focaccia bread, fresh burrata, sauteed peaches, balsamic, endives)
Entrees:
Salmone e Carciofi (Salmon, artichoke puree, string beans, fava beans, cherry tomatoes, red grapes)
Tagliatelle Cacio e Pepe (Pecorino romano, parmigiano, butter, black pepper)
Desserts:
Exotic Panna Cotta (Vanilla Bourbon panna cotta, pineapple brunoise, and passion fruit sauce)
Limone Ciocolatto sphere (Dark chocolate sphere filled with chocolate crème legere, lemon gel, lemon crumble, lemon confit, and Valrhona dark chocolate sauce)
Drinks:
Rose champagne
N/A Cocktails
IL Cocomero (Watermelon, cucumber, ginger, lime)
Pinamenta (Pineapple, mint, lemon, club soda)
Whether you're looking for a romantic night out or a place to gather with friends, Olio e Piu is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine in Chicago.

This spot is divine! I highly recommend the carbonara. I went to Olio e Più with a friend because we were craving Italian and I'm SO glad we went here. The wine, burrata appetizer, and pasta dishes are delicious. The chef was also attentive and sent over a free dessert -- how sweet?!

During my recent nine-day business trip to Chicago, I found myself stopping by Olio E Piu frequently as it was conveniently near my hotel. Every visit felt like coming home. The team at the bar—and the entire restaurant—treated me like family from the moment I walked in.
The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, but what truly stood out was the warmth and kindness of the people there. They went above and beyond to make every visit memorable.
Olio E Piu has become a must-visit for me, and I’ll be sure to make it a regular stop every time I’m in Chicago. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The food was all so good. Only thing we wish we swapped out was the fried calamari. We didn’t think it was that when reading the menu so that’s our fault. The burrata was delicious both our pasta dishes could tell they were house made and the desserts did not disappoint. atmosphere was great, cozy and quaint and very homey chic.
I got the spaghetti and my husband got the gnocchi which were both delicious, on top of that service was impeccable, our server was so friendly and very knowledge when asked.
Would definitely go back
