My partner and I hit town tonight and while it's cold outside, were both craving sushi. I have walked past this place hundreds of times and had always wondered how it was. After checking into the hotel, I ran a quick Google search on best Sushi and Roka came up as one of the spots. Since it was a short... More

Our dining experience was perfect for everyone - the sushi experts and the sushi "newbies." My family, all adults, enjoyed not only the incredible sushi, but also the delicious cocktails. Roka Akor's staff did a wonderful job introducing those of us new to sushi to their versions of basic rolls while also also tempting those of us who are already... More

An amazing restaurant for sushi!!! The inside is very trendy and modern; very big with great decor. The kitchen is open and it is fun to watch all the food being put out. They have a great menu, lots of choices and the presentation of the food is fabulous! The server was a bit of a talker and little pushy... More

My daughter and I visited Chicago for an overnight, and we wanted a restaurant a bit different than what we find at home, in Springfield, IL. We both love sushi, so this was our reason for choosing Roka Akor. We found multiple 'entrees' we'd have liked to try, but our waiter guided us with just the right amount of food.... More

Tried several dishes here. Stuck to small plates and appetizers to taste a variety of food. Appreciate their creativity and interesting food. Try something new here. You won't be disappointed. The wine bar next door is owned by the same people and is also great. Went there the night before.

The food at Roka Akor was delicious. We had a tasting menu consisting of sushi, sashimi, steak and a few more dishes. I especially enjoyed the sushi creations. They offer a wide range of excellent Sake, too. The service was outstanding.

We ate here with a friend the other night. The food was excellent. The sushi quality was top notch. There was a nice buzz in the restaurant too. Just be prepared for the bill. It adds up quickly.

Roka is yummy! I like the seating around the grill. It's cool to see the chefs prepare the food. The rice with lobster was good and the sushi rolls are delish.

My wife and I had dinner at Roka Akor last night and sat at the sushi bar with a great view of the sushi chefs in action. It was a treat added to the outstanding meal that we shared. Our waiter offered to create a tasting of starter tataki items that were delicious. The dynamite scallop maki roll he recommended... More

This was the first restaurant outside of a few buffets where I had sushi. It was amazing! They offer sushi, seafood and steak. The sushi selection had many options. The tempura is great as well as the steak. The environment is welcoming and I feel because it was NYE, there were some very loud groups there. Otherwise I think this... More

Roka Akor is the second location a highly regarded Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar, ranked among Bon Appetit magazine's top 10 sushi restaurants in the country in 2009. Meats, fish and vegetables are grilled over oak charcoal on a robata-style grill. Sit at the sushi bar to chat with the chefs as the slice and assemble sashimi platters and maki with fish that's flown in daily. Besides sizzling steaks and contemporary sushi served the dining room, a bar area features shochu and sake cocktails.
