I can only rate this restaurant as very good because nothing we ordered was just exceptional. We enjoyed the bread served with seasoned olive oil. The Caesar salad was generous, but not very flavorful. The seafood pasta was very good, with good flavor, but again...not anything to rave about. The seafood was fresh and abundant with good flavor. An example... More

Remember when you were discouraged from eating in hotel restaurants? How times have changed. The Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago was a five-star venue in every way. So was the Four Seasons. Now I don't hesitate to eat in a hotel restaurant. How about the Florentine at the JW Marriott in Chicago's bustling financial district? Located at 151... More

It's on the second floor of the JW Marriott but is worth climbing the stairs for. I had an incredible meal, lots of food, even when they did half portions. Great, knowledgeable staff with really top notch recommendations.

My wife and I went for a nice dinner during a long weekend trip to Chicago and were staying at the JW Marriott, where the restaurant is located (on the 2nd floor). We were able to make a reservation the day of our dinner and were quickly seated a few minutes before our actual reservation. Our waitress was absolutely incredible,... More

We came to this restaurant since we were staying within the JW Marriott and do not regret it. The treatment that you receive as you come through the door is quite amazing and servers are more than accommodating to meet your needs. Our server assisted me in making sure than we finished our meals no later than a certain time... More

Tucked inside on the second floor the JW Marriott hotel is this fine Italian restaurant. We opted for this restaurant for the convenience since we were staying in the hotel, and our expectations were greatly exceeded. All of us enjoyed our meals ( I had the pork chop, others had the truffle pasta, and the risotto with short rib.), the... More

First I want to say that I ask an Italian place to a friend in Chicago, he recommended the Florentine: a real gem. Service: one of my best experience for a long time, friendly, fast and excellent recommendations. For wine ask for Alexandria (Somm), she is the best! Wine: they have a Coravin wine by the glass list (I would... More

Gnocchi was amazing. Most unique preparation I have had. Calamari was butterflied huge pieces that were grilled with an olive, pepper, and cannelini sauce underneath.

Lovely atmosphere and decor. We sat in a corner of the bar in a booth, which was quieter on a weeknight than it would be on a weekend, and quieter than the main part of the restaurant. The squash soup was excellent, creamy and complex. The pennone pasta was quite good, with fine mushrooms and truffle oil. The cauliflower side... More

This is a very convenient and delicious lunch spot for a business meeting. There is always so pasta made by scratch to choose from as well as a good selection of salads and other options.
