A co-worker and I chanced our arm after our conference finished early, and were pleasantly surprised to be seated after a short wait. It was simply wonderful, the food was exceptional and the bar man who waited on us was very helpful. I would highly recommend the place.

I decided to book my birthday dinner here based on all of the great reviews. Our server recommended 2 dishes per person and that was more than enough. We ordered the cauliflower, green beans, cod, and pork shank. All of the dishes were so flavorful and filling. I also liked how they brought the food out in courses. The service... More

We had a very good meal, but the service is what stood out. Kelly was unobtrusive yet there whenever we needed something. Very genuine. Good voice. Answered our questions and volunteered advice as needed. Cocktails were both creative and excellent. Wine pairing was perfect. We had the duck tongues (good), goat neck (great) and green beans (very good). For dessert... More

Easily one of the best meals and restaurant experience overall. Totally different vibe, especially sitting close to the open kitchen. Every dish is new and creative and yummy. Add an immediate service on top of it and you will get a fantastic evening. Definitely number one spot for me to come back to in Chicago!

The two bar spaces for two people at either end of the kitchen are the best seats in the house. The chefs are amazing to watch and despite being ultra busy were still able to interact with us, recommending dishes and making sure we were enjoying our food. There broccoli dish was amazing the best I have ever eaten. Kohlrabi... More

I've been to Girl & The Goat a few times now and can't say enough good things about the place. First of all, the service is fantastic whether you've got a seat for two at the bar, table of 6, or a private dining experience, everyone here is excellent. The host, the coat check attendants, the servers, the runners -... More

We went to the restaurant on a Wednesday night and it was packed. It is good that we had reservations. We were seated immediately and were attended to right away. We started with a nice bottle of wine that their sommelier recommended. We started Raw Oysters which were awesome, then the Clam Chowder Bread and Shishito Peppers. We also had... More

Contrary to many would assume, this place doesn't just serve goat. It actually has options for vegetarians and vegans! Often times there are trendy restaurants where we are stuck just ordering a salad because there isn't much else to eat. However, at Girl & the Goat, they even have a full vegan menu! Items are smaller portions served tapas style... More

Description
Girl & the Goat has been serving fun foods, craft beers, and making wine in a rustic and kick-butt environment since summer 2010. The restaurant opens at 4:30 every day, and stays open until 11pm on weeknights and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (until those last late night eaters scrape their fork across the plate for the last time, or finish licking their plates until they're shiny and clean). The Goat's menu is divided into three categories: Vegetable, Fish, and of course Meat--while vegetable, fish, or meat are respectively the main stars of their categories, there are crossovers in each area so you'll get a little bit of everything. Bread is baked daily, and there are always new creations on the menu. Girl & the Goat sits in the West Loop smack dab in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor, but the location is still gritty enough to appeal to the chef’s integrity. The Goat has a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help.Girl & the Goat blended their own wine, and it's tasty. There are beers on tap from Three Floyd’s and a couple others. If you're lucky, you might come across the elusive collaboration beers that Stephanie personally crafted with a couple of beer buddy cohorts. In addition to tap beers, there's also a bunch of bottles to choose from. Girl & the Goat is open 7 days a week, because The Goat is a tireless beast, and besides, who needs rest anyway? Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.
