Always busy during the week with the after-work scene but I didn't expect such delicious food. We went in the weekend so it was slow. The prime rib sliders were huge and perfectly prepared with arugula, sliced beef and a soft bun and jus. The sliders come with mac & cheese bites which tasted fresh and were crispy. Carne Asada... We have visited Primebar twice on business for lunch. While the restaurant draws mixed reviews on this site, one important fact even in the negative accounts is that it is busy - a testament that actually a lot of people like the place. Primebar is, as the name suggests, part bar and part restaurant. It's fairly large and seems to... More

Nice atmosphere. Nice location. Not bad value but food was just ok. Not typical for Chicago so I was surprised. Our visit was 12/26 at 5pm so maybe we were just too early.

Was looking for someplace close by the Civic Opera House and gave Primebar a shot despite some mediocre reviews. Lightning was a little too dark for our tastes. We saw more than a couple patrons have to pull out their phones to see the menu. Dining area was very expansive so I was confused why the majority of parties were... More

Great location & setup for happy hour. Our group had reserved in advance so we had the back area setup with a few high tables & the appetizers table: an assortment of sliders, mini tacos, mini pizzas, cheese balls, meat balls etc: nothing extraordinary but normal for a bar. The best part however, besides the service, was their cocktails: a... More

Came here for a business lunch and ordered the cobb salad chopped. First mouthful had a blob of something squishy which I had to discretely spit into my napkin. I was here with three people I'd never met before so complaining to the waitress didn't enter my mind. I'm a pretty easy going diner. Got another "blob" a second time,... More

The food had a dash of creativity and was well executed, though not quite 100% up to par with what the flavor pairings would suggest. The Turkey Sandwich was above average, though the bread was buttered so much before grilling that the richness of the butter overpowered the other flavors, including the brie of all things. The oddest part for... More

I keep hoping that this restaurant will get itself pulled together since I work right across the street and it is so convenient. They should hire servers who know how to wait on customers, get better kitchen staff, or both. I came with a couple others for lunch this week and we had an early reservation for lunch and so... odd traffic pattern through this place. been here 3x - mix of younger and older business people. convenient if you have to meet someone in this part of loop but not terribly cheap. have a gin and tonic but don't go too far into the drinks or food menu - flatbread not good - way too pestoey.

On the first floor of modern high rise. Very, very busy. Menu casual food - variety of burgers and dospgs, fish and chips, a few regular entrees - lots of beers, limited wine. Service and pricing okay. Okay place but nothing special.
