Our son took my wife and I there for lunch for my birthday. We ordered a variety of items and shared them. The food, service and experience was awesome. We will be back.

Great food and atmosphere! Staff was friendly and upbeat. Perfect for a fun casual outing. I ate there a couple times recently and all experiences have been consistently good. If you haven't tried it...give it a whirl.

My friend and I stopped at this restaurant and it was terrible the service sucked. The server that was helping us was very rude, she wasn't attentive at all and she practically just rushed us out of there. I'm not sure I'll be going back on my next visit to Chicago.

A friend recommended the Purple Pig when I went July 2014 and I was so happy we ended up going. We had to wait in a line before it opened but it was worth every second. It is one of my favorite restaurants by far.

I've heard a lot about The Purple Pig. My husband and I had tried to go there for dinner, but no lucky with reservation. I'm not sure if that day they weren't taking any reservation or the waiting line was huge and we gave up on waiting any longer. Anyways... Last Sunday we went there for lunch and had to... More

We ate lunch here and loved it!!! The food is tapas style and on the expensive side but for the high quality of food and great cooking, is well worth it. We had the milk braised pork shoulder as one of our dishes and it was cooked so perfectly, was some of the best pork I've eaten. Another highlight was... More

After a busy day of sightseeing, shopping, and walking - we did a quick search for a memorable but relaxed evening. What a great meal, personable service, and fantastic food. The idea of "small plates" seemed to get lost because we wanted to try so much - and so glad we did. Only regret was we didn't save room for... More

Their menu is great...service is great... location is great. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the experience. We finally made it to the place after 3 years (our scheduling problem - nothing to do with the restaurant). Loved the concept of the plates and menu organization. My daughter is a chef... need I say more about how... More

Be prepared to wait, so show up early. We went around 5:45 and waited for ~1.5 hours. You can give them your name and number and they'll call you when your table is ready, so you can walk around Michigan Ave. while you're waiting. Seating is a little cramped and be prepared to share a table with other guests. The... More

Description
This is a new restaurant from the house of Bannos (owners of the infamously popular Heaven on Seven, here in Chicago). They have now opened what could affectionately be called the foodie tourists' dream come true, with everything from bone marrow to fried pig's ears and fresh ricotta as well as a nice selection of paninis, and of course, the wines. Not to mention: Its right on the Magnificent Mile!

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
