Came here on the recommendation of the staff at the ALoft hotel around the corner. Had a late light dinner. Highly recommend the Little Gem salad, that is far from little. I work in the city and will be going back for the salad.

Walked in and was warmly greeted. Let the greeter know we would like to sit at the bar. The bar seemed run down and the wine system was broken and not currently being used. The bartender was not initially back there but came to us shortly after we sat down. He gave us 4 dirty menus for a party of... More

We were in Chicago for the weekend visiting family and our son who lives in the area suggested this place. Great choice. The location is very central, near many hotels so if you are looking for a place while traveling to enjoy a nice evening out while visiting the theatre, this would be an excellent selection. There were seven of... More

Great place, somewhat obscure from outside. The menu is unique and creative. The marinated grape pizza and the breads are simply outstanding.

Owner/chef Jonathan Fox of Osteria La Madia built his restaurant around his own pizza recipe. It's different, not traditional. The dough and cheese and meat and other ingredients and toppings have a smoked or wood-fired taste. This isn't your traditional thin crust cheese and sausage. How about Triple Pepperoni, Fennel sausage, Moroccan spiced lamb sausage or roasted grape and Taleggio... More

My friend and I were both traveling on business and decided to eat at Osteria la Madia as it was near her hotel. We were seated right away but didn't see a waitress for a few minutes. When she finally showed up my friend asked if we could get some bread. Her response was "You want some bread?" along with... More

I went here for restaurant week with my wife and another couple. We all got the restaurant week deal for $33 that included an appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert. The reason I say this whole meal is a good bang for the buck is the big portions that left us with a whole pizza to take home and delectable truffle... More

Chicago is known for their pizza but I don't really like their deep dish style. Decided to check this place out after reading great reviews online. I was not disappointed. We ordered 4 or 5 pizzas for our table so it was fun to eat family style and try different styles/flavors. Had a good pasta entree also. Service was quick... More

Went here with some colleagues for a quick dinner. We ended up with ordering as much as possible, and then shared. Everything is so tasty and fresh. The starter brushetta w. mushrooms is divine. A bit difficult to find this restaurent, but absolutely worth the effort.

At La Madia, two pleasures - great food and distinctive, delicious wines - come together. La Madia is an urban restaurant that upholds Italian tradition. Every day, our chefs make our pizza dough and fresh pasta from scratch from little more than flour, water, and salt. The menu is designed for sharing, with flavor-packed, wood-fired pizzas that change seasonally, inventive salads, and savory pasta dishes. Desserts are all made on the premises, in keeping with what's available in the market. The wine list is a wine lover's dream, with more than 75 wines by the glass and hundreds of bottles. And every week, we feature two of our favorite wines for just $5 per glass. In addition to wine and more than 25 beers, La Madia offers innovative cocktails, many of which are made from spirits infused in-house.
