My mother and I ate here during our recent visit to Tybee Island. I don't really like to write negative reviews but I want to save people from this disaster. First of all it has a terrible smell. Admittedly, it was late when we got there but they had plenty open time left. The food is pricey and the greeter... More

Ordered the Seafood feast. Scallops and shrimp were good, fries were cold. The crab cake was disgusting. The flounder smelled like sewer! We gave the flounder to the waitress and she gave it to the manager. The manager came to the table and told us that she ate it and it was good. Our meal was a complete waste of... More

Sorry that this young lady didn't enjoy her soup but she loved the long Island tea drinks she consumed right before she had our cream based homemade crab soup. We served 3 gallons that day and every other customer loved it! More

We were purposely trying to get away from the Butler Street strip of bars and frozen alcoholic beverage purveyors. This was definitely a quieter, quaint, (shall we say geriatric) atmosphere and offered real seafood meals, but still had it's problems. 7:30pm on a Saturday and they were already out of oysters. So we got stuffed mushroom app instead which was... More

I had one of their appetizer soups and before I was done with the main entree, ran for the restroom and vomited my entire meal. When asked "if there was anything they could do", I simply asked for a baked potato to calm my stomach but was declined that request because it was "against their policy". I wasn't looking for... The wife and I went on 04 / 24 / 2015 for her birthday. We enjoyed the food. We tried the Chef's Creations. It was very good, fresh, and plentiful! We will definitely be back!

The breading wouldn't stay on the seafood. I had the seafood platter. The best thing on it was the oysters and scallops. The shrimp was not very good and the fish we had had the skin still left on it which didn't help the taste. The baked potato was not done. The slaw tasted like it just had some vinegar... More

One of the storekeepers told us after we had eaten here that it had gone down.. I don't know what it was like before, but it was not the place that reviews reflected that it was. We had fried seafood and all of us felt that it was soggy and not crisp. The french fries were also not well cooked.... More

My companion and I ate at McElwees in February, when many places are closed, and were pleased with the food. We had the Mahi Oscar and pasta with asparagus tips and artichoke hearts. Both were very good. I think that the food was as good as Sundae Café for that one meal and the dining area is larger.

It's just OK. Typical fare. A full menu with specials that don't ever seem to change. The place is a little outdated and could use some help.

Hey, listen. We're from Atlanta, where service is good and can be raised to an artform, so maybe we just don't get the Tybee idea of service. But when the waitresses are beyond curt and their volume level is just short of a scream, well, I think no one considers that to be good service. The good news: they told... More
