The Dun Cow is a a very comfortable, inviting place to relax and enjoy a drink and a meal. I enjoyed my cheese and chutney sandwich followed by treacle tart, mmm...The view of the sea and the warm fire inside were quite enjoyable.

The only pub I know that doesn't take bookings in the main room-they don't have to- it's often too busy. Why? A warm friendly welcome from the Patron, a really interesting menu that excites the tastebuds (we had crab thermidor £8-) and it offers value for money. Sometimes a hassle to get a table but worth that agro. Close to... More

I have been coming to the Dun Cow for many years, and the food and service are always reliable. It is one of those pubs which serves a more traditional style of food and it comes in good sized portions which are well cooked and nice and hot. The views from the garden over the salt marshes are amazing but... More

I've heard some customers say the food was average here - I've always had good food, plenty of it and the prices are reasonable. The views across to the sea are lovely - but you don't really see a lot of the sea from inside the pub itself. In the winter the roaring fire is lovely! My only 'negative comment'... More

We had to wait for a table but just had a drink while we were waiting . All the staff are so friendly and always appear so happy in their work. We had food off of the specials menu - it was lovely. Mussels were so tasty. Then we had lemon sole - lovely! Then we went mad and had... More

Same as last time the welcome by the staff and service was excellent with the best fish and... More

Visited on a Tuesday evening thinking it would be quiet but the place was very busy. Waited 10 mins for a table as had not booked and sat down to order. Menu had variety of options including vegetarian options. Sharing platter for starters followed by a beautifully cooked and seasoned tuna steak. My other half had sea bass and again... More

Arrived after long walk from Holt to a warm welcome and some great food. Pricier than the average pub, but worth it as the food and beer were excellent. Polite and friendly staff, dogs welcome, great views; easy to see why you need to book.
