I likely won't be stopping here again. Here are my thoughts... Food: The Pretzels were good however they use the same coarse american salt you get on amusement park pretzels. The Schnitzel and potato salad were both flavorless, and left a lot to be desired. If you've experienced authentic German food you will be disappointed. Building: The restaurant looked somewhat... My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for early dinner, and were sorely dis-satisfied. There were only 2 occupied tables in the place and one was eating when we walked in. We sat at the bar and thought we must have become invisible. We could see multiple wait staff in the drink prep area beside the bar... More

The food is good but a little expensive. They have a nice inside dinning area, an outside beer garden, a large venue building attached, a bar, and a bakery where you come in at the mail entrance. They have worked out a deal with the city of Stone Mountain Village do a small Octoberfest celebration. They also usually have other... More

Everything we had from the large pretzel ( a MUST) to the schnitzel, sausages and beer flights was delicious. We also purchased sweets from the bakery to take back to our room at Stone Mountain Manor (see my review), and were very glad we did. Danke!

What a find....... a tremendous German restaurant near Stone Mountain... I venture to say this might be the best German food I have ever eaten. I had pork Osso Bucco with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The meat just fell off the bone and was so moist and tender... the best ever!!!!! They also brew their own beer here and... More

My son and I happened upon this restaurant on a visit to Stone Mountain. We found the service good and the food delicious. We tried several dishes and especially enjoyed the schnitzel. They also have a bakery with some delicious desserts! We highly recommend it!

I live in Louisiana, but every time I'm in Stone Mountain, I go to this restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and efficient, the prices are reasonable and the decor is interesting. The sauerkraut must be home made and was really delicious. There's a bar, where it seems they may have a piano player from time to... More

This was a nice historic German restaurant. The food was great and our waiter was awesome. The bakery had a lot of different baked goods. It was hard to choose , but everything we tried was very good!!

Sunday brunch was amazing. I had the French toast and it was the best that I had ever had. Will definitely be back. My husband and son are very picky I was happy to see they had regular sandwiches on the menu as well.

Description
The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.
