This was a nice historic German restaurant. The food was great and our waiter was awesome. The bakery had a lot of different baked goods. It was hard to choose , but everything we tried was very good!!

Sunday brunch was amazing. I had the French toast and it was the best that I had ever had. Will definitely be back. My husband and son are very picky I was happy to see they had regular sandwiches on the menu as well.

Started off nicely when we were seated promptly and the owner even came over early on to talk to us. After that things were horrible. The dinners did not come for well over an hour. The waitress was not attentive and she was not friendly. When the dinners were served some people did not receive their order for another 20... More

I come by my German heritage on both sides, and both sides of the both sides, so I will admit to a little bit of trepidation when I reserved a table for an early New Year's Eve dinner at the Village Corner. (The main reason I did was because of its proximity to Stone Mountain Manor where we were spending... More

The title provides the extent of my German, but I was inspired. The building itself looks like it was ripped out a quaint German village. Upon entering, the smells from the bakery hit you and all those great plans on doing salads and staying away from sugar get left in the parking lot somehow. I went with the jaegerschnitzel, which... This was by far the best German food we had ever had....and home-brewed beer. It was easy to get to from the west gate of the Park. The service was efficient, and very cordial and helpful for a relative German food novice, as myself. Cannot say enough good about this place. Wish I had it in my hometown.

We happened to drive by and never had german food, but we were definitely surprised and impressed. There is a nice variety and I had the chicken Cordon Bleu which was amazing and could have eaten another dish of it. Not so german, lol. The owner was there and though a bit cold at first, opened up and was nice... More

Had dinner her 2 nights in a row while staying at The Stone Mountain Manor right up the street. The service was great and the food was wonderful, best Chicken Cordon Bleu I ever had! Got it 2 nights in a row! And the manager/bartender made the best Apple Martini's!!

Very friendly staff and excellent food. The appetizer was very good as was the wine and German beer flight. The main courses were excellent. We would recommend it without reservation.

Stopped by for Sunday brunch. All items are alacarte (not a buffet) which we liked. There was a nice brunch selection with many German speciality foods. I ordered an apple-stuffed pancake and it was burned on the bottom. My husband's French toast was average. Our waitress was decidedly brusque and rather unfriendly.

Description
The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.
