Ordered fish sandwich special. Got two pieces of thin whiting filet that hadn't even been cleaned of dark meat on two slices of white sandwich bread with a small side of tartar sauce. What little I ate left a bad taste in my mouth.
Vandys has changed owners a few times over the years. If you have not been back recently give them another try. Everything is much better Under the current owner. I love their Brunswick stew !
Down home family friendly environment. Great food at very affordable prices. Try the chicken melt and be sure to wash it down with some ice cold sweet tea.
One of the oldest places to eat in Statesboro. We had the pulled pork plate for lunch and very much enjoyed our lunch. They have several different sauces and they are available for purchase when you check out. The vinegar base sauce was our favorite.
I spent my childhood in Statesboro, and just moved back after several decades. This is the only barbecue I have ever truly loved. There is no attempt to "fix what ain't broke." Limited menu, of course, but the chopped barbecue pork and sauce is what...More
Delicious BBQ cooked on site and served with a smile. The sweet tea is VERY sweet and the BBQ sauce is worth buying a bottle to take home
