The Smoke House a great place to bring your family, friends or business associates. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Doing food right for 40 years. The BBQ is smoke with hickory for 12 to 14 hours, everyday. Sides, sauces and desserts are all made in-house, from scratch, daily. We are not fast food, but we do serve great food as fast as we can. So, come and relax and enjoy!

Smoke House BBQ is a quaint little place that serves very good BBQ for a reasonable price. We got the pound of pork given that it was $3 cheaper than two 1/2 pounds. Great taste; and the staff was very helpful to us newbees. The sauces were very tasty as well-not too hot.

We utilized the drive through and they had us pull in a designated spot where they brought our food out to us. We then pulled to the front of the parking lot where there were picnic tables set up. This was by far the best pulled pork I have ever had. It was tender and juicy. My husband had the ribs and you could pull the meat off the bone. The potato salad, okra and fries were great. The sweet tea was just right, not too sweet. The only thing I've had better somewhere else was the banana pudding although theirs is good. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

We walked over to the Smoke House to get lunch while our Toyota was being serviced. We were greeted warmly. We ordered the sandwich lunch, which included 1 side and a drink. The side portions are generous, so hubby and I shared our sides. We each ended up with a pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, and Cole slaw. The potato salad was great, and the pulled pork was lean and smoky. We sat outside on the covered porch, which provided plenty of space for social distancing. We will gladly return.

Went to Smoke House BBQ with some friends based upon the recommendation of a colleague who frequented the establishment years ago. We traveled about thirty minutes to get there.
We stood in a pretty long line to order and when the first of our party got to the register, they opened a second register. But, they insisted that everyone in our group stay in the first line if we were sharing a table, even though we were ordering and paying separately). The young lady at our register was slow as molasses and each of our party had to keep repeating their order as it appeared she was distracted. By the time we got to the register to order, she said "we are out of pulled pork". It appeared that those who were behind us in line and moved to the second register when it opened got the rest of the pulled pork. So we ordered chicken. Nope, no chicken. She said "do you want the beef". That was ALL they had left! She seemed prideful to claim that they "usually" sell out of pork and chicken by 4:30. Seriously? What kind of restaurant is this? If you "usually" run out, cook more to start with. Duh!
But since our friends had already ordered and moved to the table, we ordered what we could. The beef was dry and flavorless (no wonder it was all that was left), the sauces left something to be desired, and the sides were barely lukewarm.and ordinary. Service was non-existent. And the prices....much too high for what you get.
Needless to say, we won't be back. Our regular place, Moonees Texas BBQ has locations in Gainesville and Flowery Branch with better BBQ, sides, sauces and service. Moonies even has great sausage from Lockhart TX. If you are hankering for BBQ in the area, give Moonies a try. That's where we'll be next time.

Good afternoon "Dawg", I really wish we had a crystal ball so that we could "see" how much pork, chicken, ribs and beef to smoke, everyday. But, I don't. It takes 12 to 14 hours to smoke our meats, and when we are out, we are out. There are a lot of BBQ joints that get their BBQ out of a cryovac pack, but not at the Smoke House. A REAL BBQ restaurant WILL run out from time to time.
As far as asking our customers to remain together, we do that to make sure all of your food comes out at the same time. Otherwise, some of your party would probably be done eating before you got your food. There is a "method to our madness"!
I will assume that either you work for Moonie's BBQ (by the way, they have closed there Gainesville location) or at least know the owner, and that's OK. But, remember, when you are posting these reviews, you are "talking" about a real live human being. We take this very personal.
If you would glad to speak to you in person if you have any other questions or concerns. Otherwise, Tripadvisor, Google, Yelp or any of the other "review" platforms can't do ANYTHING about your problem, but I can.

Smokehouse BBQ has really declined in both quality of their food and their customer care. Smokehouse no longer has fried side items or potatoes (including no fries). They have replaced fries with off brand potato chips (that have no taste) as a side item. The soda is always flat. They are only open limited days and hours. Service is very slow both inside and drive through. They have increased their prices a good bit and are also now charging a convivence fee if you use your credit/debit card. I will looking for a new place to eat BBQ.

This was our 3rd time eating here. We don’t live in the area, and our 1st meal there was excellent. 2nd meal wasn’t quite as good, but thought maybe they were just having a bad day. We decided to give it a try again. We were in line to place our order and noticed a sign that said they were not serving fried foods due to being short staffed. We really like fries with our BBQ, but thought ok, we will order other sides this time. I’m not sure how long the signs had been up, or if it was just that weekend. We placed our order, and was then told they were out of baked beans. The cashier said we will have some more in 15 minutes. We agreed to wait the 15 minutes, as there weren’t many other choices for sides. We waited, other patrons came, ate, and left. The young lady bringing food out never asked what we ordered, or told us she would check on our order. She constantly walked by us, seeing we had nothing but our drinks. I kept looking at the time, and 45 minutes later, we still did not have our food. I asked for a manager, and requested a refund, letting her know we had not received our food. She looked at the order time on the receipt, and said, “you have not received your food?, I am so sorry.” She gave me a refund, but we wasted almost an hour of our time, and still had not ate. We left and went to another restaurant to eat. This place could be a great restaurant, but if they can’t serve the most popular sides, and can’t get the food out, they will end up failing. We were highly disappointed!

Been going for years here but the BBQ has gone down hill because they have started throwing in Hard as a rock burnt Bark that is on the out side of the hams they cook. About 1/3 of you order of BBQ is waste . To add to all this they want cash or you pay 3.5% if you use a credit card

After reading some of these negative reviews I decided to post mine from our experience last night carry out. We have been here enough times to give an accurate review of Smokehouse. We know BBQ btw as we frequent Big name BBQ in and around Atlanta.
This is a good solid BBQ location. The pulled pork was flavorful and tasty that didn't need Sauses.Sauses the offer are good and interesting but could be better IMO.The sides are very good especially Potato salad,Mac &cheese,and baked beans. They have very good Brunswick stew that I should have bought more of.
The absolute best thing is their Banna Pudding which is not your typical type IMO but about the best I have ever had. I would come here for just that...no kidding.
Rock Solid BBQ and Banna Pudding to die for.

We visited today, I don’t know why the last few reviews are bad because our experience was wonderful! The place is packed because people clearly love their food. Their smoked chicken is amazing!! Great potato salad and sweet tea. Ask for the White Alabama sauce, you can thank me later. We go to leave and I realize I
forgot to order banana pudding. I place my order and wait forever and they apologize because they were making fresh banana pudding for me and I’m like, ummm ok thinking this banana pudding won’t be any good. I go home and an hour later I remember my pudding, I take it out of the bag and it’s warm! So, then I’m really like what in tarnation?!? This is the BEST banana pudding I’ve ever had and I LOVE banana pudding. Highly recommend!!

Don't trust them to have your order ready on time. Had a dinner party planned and they assured me my order would be ready at 4:00 p.m. When I got there they said I needed to come back in 45 more minutes, which I could not do. Very disappointed in them.

We are very sorry about your experience. There was miscommunication in the kitchen and unfortunately, the ribs were not ready. This is NOT common. So, you CAN TRUST us to have your order in a timely manner.
If this was your first trip to the Smoke House, I hope that you will give us another chance. If not, apparently you have been here before and we have pleased you.

First timer today and it was delicious! I got the pulled pork plate with fried okra, slaw and very sweet tea! There were three sauces which all were good and a half pound of meat. The price was right and the restaurant was clean. Good customer service, too.

My wife and I shared the three combo sliders with fries and fried okra. The chicken, pork and beef sliders were very good. Okra and French fries were from un der a heat lamp.

Decided last minute to get BBQ to go. It was such a nice surprise. Loved the pulled pork, baked beans, fries, pickles and bread. Mac and Cheese is good, but not my favorite. Same with cole slaw. But the BBQ is outstanding. Very good service. We will definitely go back!

Banana puddin’ is the best in the world!
A choice of 3 sizes cracked me up…single serving, half gallon or full gallon. Everything is fantastic.
Cheerful, friendly and welcoming staff are awesome.

Great pulled pork BBQ, and some of the best banana pudding i've ever had. I have been going to this establishment for years and have always received some of the highest quality BBQ in this area.
