Went with a friend on Friday evening...only chose this because we weren't able to get a seat in any other local establishment. Ordered drinks and something to eat. The couple sitting at the bar next to us was in the process of returning their food...because it was cold. When our food arrived, my burrito, wrapped in aluminum foil was cold to the touch on the outside. When opened it was just as cold. I sent it back and told the bartender it was cold. It was returned in about 3-5 minutes, still cold to the touch both inside and outside. Prior to leaving the bartender asked how everything was. I explained my meal came back cold the second time. He did remove it from the bill but that really didn't matter. The point is that this is not a cheap fast food joint and the food should be of a better quality. I will not be returning anytime soon if at all.More
We arrived on a Sunday at 12:15pm. Sat at the bar. We each ordered a beef burrito. Nothing special. So many of the patrons were receiving their food prior to us. And they arrived after us! At 12:45 I asked about our food. The response...was “they are busy”. Ok…we get it. 1pm!! Where is our burrito? Oh?! They are just making it now!! A couple next to us received their food late as well. But they came in way after us. And their wait time was minimal compared. The hostess at the bar refunded their food!! They did enjoy some of their meal and the rest was boxed to go. Our meat in the burrito was cold. They did not grill the outside of the tortilla, which would have been a great additionMore
This place has an unusual set-up in the way you order. If you sit at the bar, you order from the bartender, but if you sit at a table, you must order at the counter. The menu is extensive, the selections are unique, but the...quality of the food seemed about the same as other places in Vero Beach. There were 5 or maybe even 6 food-prep & counter staff, mostly just standing around in plain view. Some of them ran the prepared food to the bar & the tables, so that made it even weirder that they didn't just have waitstaff to take orders at the table. But all the staff were fun & friendly & seemed to enjoy their work. I found it very odd that I had to get up to go to the bar to get something to drink, & in doing so, I created 2 separate bills - one for the bar & one for the food. It was especially inconvenient for our 2nd round of drinks, as the bar was super-busy & I had to wait in a crowd for drink service while my food sat on the table. By the time I returned with our drinks, my friends were finished with their meals & my food was cold. We did learn that the outside seating area is both smoker-friendly & pet-friendly, which is appealing to us; but realistically, we probably won't return here, just because their service set-up isn't really what we want in a restaurant.More
Strictly average food. And on top of that, they allow smoking at the outdoor seating area. Won’t be back.
Yummy Yummy.. the rueben egg roll, so good, not healthy , but oh soo good- we got it to split as an appetizer. Delish! Buffalo wings are good, could have been spicier as ordered medium. Its a bit off-putting to get a tiny cup of...blue cheese in a plastic cup with a lid. They have great salads and sauces, seemed incongruent to cheap out on the blue cheese. Korean beef tacos are great, love that you have cool options for sides. Taco refers to just the mode of serving, they look like tacos, but taste like heaven. Citrus salad- think that is what is called - is a medley of delish! wine list is lacking and the bar is a bit too focused on pushing cheap drinks, with great food they should focus on that.More
There is not service unless you count the people behind the counter. I was so embarrassed when they dumped a whole pan of cooked meat onto one salad and then started moving it to other plates in fistfuls with their hands. Their hands were gloved,...but it was just kind of careless and yucky, and I was embarrassed this was how my guest was being served. I cannot imagine why they would not use tongs and felt it showed rudeness and a real lack of understanding of the job. Pass on this place if that is their standard.More
$7.99 for an IPA!!!!! That's right, $7.99. For just one! Had I known, would never have ordered one. Never going back at that price. Kind of arrogant to think this is ok.
Usually good but not today. Greens were brown, the beans and grilled onions they used to offer on salads were not on offer, and they doled out a half a tiny condiment up of dressing which we realized when we got our orders home. Stingy,...poor quality and grossly overpriced for what we got.More
Before I left home, because I was going with a larger group my husband (also teased me because I never carry cash) handed me money, 3 $20 bills, which I put in my wallet/purse, along with my insurance card, bank card and ID. (It was...a tiny wristlet) Our group sat at the bar to eat dinner, several of the ladies with me had a hard time getting around, walkers, bad leg, etc. so it was our only option because Chive didn't have servers. The food was ok, tacos, burritos and bowls, very salty, luke warm, mediocre for Vero, we definately have quite a few better options in town. (it was my first time here) We all had a couple drinks and finished our food, the bartender (blonde, tattooed, occasional black readers and weathered) brought each of us our checks, some multiple checks that weren't theirs. Nonetheless, I took out the 3 $20 bills, fanned them out on top of my check. (financial person with OCD) Besides myself, I also had 4 witnesses, 2 ladies from my group, one on each side of me and a couple that sat beside my friend to my right. I sat there waiting for quite some time, waiting on my change. Finally, the bartender came over to me and I told her I was waiting on my change, that I had given her $60, 3 $20's. She tried to say that I gave her $1's, that made zero sense, my bill was $40+ how many ones do you carry around? It certainly couldn't fit in a tiny wristlet. I explained that I didn't have any $1's. I never carry cash, I knew exactly what I had. I even called my husband in front of her to confirm the denomination he had given me. Now she tried to say that she didn't have 3 $20's in her register. There was no doubt in my mind that she was being dishonest. I eventually got my change, still left her a 20%+ tip, so not to make a scene in front of my friends and proceeded to take my guests home. Of course afterwards I returned to speak with the manager. She was very professional and polite, me I was so angry I was shaking. I'm middle aged, not hopped up on drugs of any kind, I don't have memory issues, I wasn't intoxicated, I knew the bartender was without a doubt, trying to scam me. I explained the situation to the manager, even suggested where those $20's might be, forgive my sarcasm but nobody likes being lied to and cheated out of money. The bartender actually made her way over to us, only to say this time that perhaps she dropped my money on the floor. Oh please, I had heard it all now. I was sitting 5ft from the register and could see the bar area floor, obviously you would have have seen cash on the floor. Enough was enough, (now I'm thinking is she on drugs?) I couldn't take anymore lies, it was beyond obvious (for me, it was one of those it's not worth the prison time moments) I told the manager that I would never be back, vowed to myself that I would write a review and would tell all my friends what had happened, as a warning. If you're like most, you want to have a nice time when you go out to eat, have fun with your friends and family, have a nice meal, if so, this definitely isn't the place for you.More
Went there with my wife. No one to greet us. I asked the bartender where to sit, he said in the back. We sat down waited 10 minutes, but no one came to wait on us. We got up and lift. There was only one...other couple in the place.More

My girlfriend and I loved Chive for lunch. The food is fresh, and delicious - you can basically build any bowl or salad or wrap however you prefer. There are 23 sauces/dressings to accompany. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely go...back.More
My son is visiting from California . We both take social distancing very seriously so we were thrilled to see that the beautiful outdoor space was empty . We went inside where there was a pretty full bar full of people but we did not...have to go anywhere near it. We walked directly over to the order station and were greeted by a super sweet and helpful young lady who got our food together very quickly along with the cook. We paid . Walked outside sat at our table and got to spend some wonderful quality time together. We both got a version of curry chicken. I dont eat rice so i had mine over broccoli salad and wow was it amazing. I only took one photo because we were focused on " us time" but we were so very pleased with the experience.More
