When I travel, I like to visit restaurants that are not national chains to experience a variety in the food. Crows Nest is popular with locals and the snow birds. If is located on Venice Island, where construction started back in the 1930s. It is near several condo buildings and has a view of the intercoastal waterway. Really great clam... More

It is difficult to live in an area with so many good restaurants. Each time I visit the Crow's Nest I am impressed with the meals, the wine, the service, the whole presentation. We were a group of eight people and ordered a cross section of entrees across the menu, mostly fish dishes. Everyone was impressed with their meal, we... More

In the recommendation of a friend, I went for dinner. Fortunately for me, one of the outside tables was available. Choose this option if it's not too hot and especially around sunset! With the view, I was looking forward to a tasty seafood meal and there were several choices. I chose Grouper Key Largo. Unfortunately, it was the blandest entree... More

On a drive we came upon this restaurant while touring Venice Beach. It looked very upscale & we afraid that the prices would be high. Not so!! Very reasonable for the quantity & quality of the food we ordered. Large varied menu! The best French fries I have ever had! We enjoyed, oysters- raw & fried, a free form hamburger,... More

We tried coming here once during "season" when all the snow birds are living here, but were put off by the lack of parking. We tried again tonight in June and had a very ncie time. I made a reservation online for 5PM when they open and we were seated immediately at the window, which I requested. The place filled... More

we went here on a recommendation. The food and service were excellent, but the outside eating on the inlet was small and it overlooks the parking lot , then the water. So i would not go again, since the location was not what i wanted, which was on the water, not on a parking lot.

Went to the Crows Nest for lunch. The view was great and for the most part, the food was good. The service was good. I had the seafood platter that had 1 piece of fish, 2 scallops and 2 shrimp with rice. I actually was filling. The food was cooked and prepared very well. The only problem I had was... More

Wonderful dining experience. Knowledgable wait staff and a variety of dinner choices. We went there for the marina view and the seafood and we were not disappointed. The shrimp cocktail were some of the largest shrimp I've ever seen. Delicious entrees. We had salmon and swordfish. Try to save room for the homemade cobbler desert. Sit outside and watch the... Hello, Thank you for your review. We're shocked to hear that one of our staff members wouldn't fill you in on any of our various vegetarian options, including our Summer Vegetable Pasta and others. Not only that, but we can modify several of our other menu items to make them vegetarian. Rest assured that we will discuss your comments with... More

We ordered clam chowder to start and it was super thick with flour.. not much flavor and not enough clams to call it clam chowder. We each ordered something different.. meatloaf was flavorless, chicken with potatoes was boring, the shrimp scampi had no sauce at all and fish was overcooked. Disappointing. Hadn't been in years and was looking forward to... More
