Cote France is a lovely bistro in a perfect location on a corner on Tampa Avenue. It is quite small so definitely recommend reservations. The restaurant posts their offerings for the evening on a little sandwich board, very European. I had the Cote France risotto...with pan seared scallops, asparagus, cremini mushrooms, and crispy parmesan and IT WAS HEAVENLY! The 2 gentlemen had the Burgundy Beef, and were pleased with the dish. The service was excellent. Our only concern was that the prices were quite high, so don't expect that when you come. Overall, a strong recommend.More

All 6 of us had excellent meals. The presentation was great and the food tasted equally as well. We had expected seeing Steve Longet, the former owner of Cafe Longet. Steve had become the Executive Chef at Cote France last summer. However, we found out...that Steve left 2 months ago. We learned the new chef was the previous chef before Steve. He did a terrific job. We will be back.More

My husband and I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for some time -- finally made it for lunch today. Their menu is very limited, but the choices we made were very good. I had the ham and cheese crepe and he had the...quiche of the day. We liked both, but must say the crepe was wonderful. This is a small venue. Service was good. We will be back to try dinner soon.More

Most excellent! All four of us were impressed by Cote France. Our server was sweet and very helpful. And all of our meals were perfect and “reorderable”. The shrimp patty sandwich at lunch is particularly compelling and excellent. The place isn’t big so come early...or make a reservation or be prepared to wait. We’ll make a point to return next time we are in the neighborhood.More

This place is so good I was taken aback. It had mostly good reviews but some complainers. I don’t know what could be a problem. The food was to die for. The service was impeccable. I will return as often as I can. I and...my group are still raving. So wonderful.More

Terrible meal. Here are the highlights of why I gave this rating. For a first course, I ordered the French bistro salad. To my surprise it was shredded iceberg lettuce, the same salad served at Subway. For my main course I had the duck special....The duck breast by itself was nicely cooked and very tasty. However, the duck was ruined by being placed on Thanksgiving flavored mashed sweet potatoes and then the plate was smothered in a dark Asian flavored brown sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The sauce was so thick it was hard to find and then taste the few wok veggies on the plate. The service was slow and the restaurant very warm. It was a very expensive meal for such poor quality.More

I had the shrimp risotto. It tasted fine, but $35 for four medium shrimp is way overpriced. My wife had the duck breast special (&44). The actual duck breast was nice, but it was overpowered by a heavy Asian-influenced sauce. Service was bad. We ordered...two glasses of wine when placing our orders. They only arrived 10 minutes later after a reminder. I ordered a second glass when my entree arrived, but they never served me the second glass. We’d recommend avoiding this restaurant.More

Amazing food, great French bistro. Love the tiny space and loft. Who knew you could get risotto at the French bistro? Lovely wine selection and dessert was spectacular!

Dinner with my father. Sat upstairs. Service was great. We shared escargot and a house salad for appetizers. The escargot was delicious. For dinner Coq au vin and Risotto with shrimp and mushrooms. Both dinners were excellent and well portioned. Will be going back.

Cote France used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Venice, Fl. Sadly they are going downhill in terms of quality of dishes and pricing for what you get. Today I ordered an ice tea, that was so weak it didn’t even look like...tea and tasted like water. I ordered the Nicoise Salad which advertised on the menu that hard boiled eggs came with it along with mixed greens, tuna and beans. The mixed greens were merely chopped up iceberg lettuce, there were no eggs included on the salad and barely a tablespoon of canned tuna atop. Very, very disappointing.More

If you want lots of Gallic attitude, this is your place. VERY average food, ridiculous prices for what is offered. Some appetizer dishes were fine (escargot), and the lamb shank was good. But the fish was not good, and the desserts were average.

I winter in the area and for several years have always made it a point to visit the Cote France Bistro. This year I've had brunch there, 2 wine-pairing dinners and lunch. They cook everything well and some things extremely well. For my money, this...is the best restaurant in the area (and I've been to most of the others). FYI, I found brunch to be reasonable priced. Some of the wine/food pairings in the wine-pairing dinners are inspired. If, however, you prefer quantity to quality, this is not the restaurant for you.More

What a great dinner - 4 courses with wine paired with each course. Excellent dinner and excellent wine, 3 French and 1 Italian. Great description of each wine. A wonderful evening!
