If you are in south Tampa, checkout dairy joy. Soft serve. Some hard ice cream. The genius of Dairy Joy is how the use the soft serve to make "spoon thick" shakes of almost any flavor by adding awesome ingredients. We had banana choc chip, coconut choc chip, mint choc chip, strawberry m&m. We went three times in three days.... More

We just stumbled onto this place a few weeks ago. What a great place! Both soft serve and hard ice cream. Lots of selections to choose from. The real surprise was the prices! I can't imagine what keeps them in business because the prices are very low compared to other places we have visited - and won't return to. Dairy... More

I went back to Dairy Joy on my recent trip to Florida. I hadn't been in 7 years but, it was still the same. It was the same as it was back in 1966 when I had it the first time too. Creamy smooth, good sized servings, reasonable cost AND if you accidentally knock your cone off the counter while... More

An absolute must every time I get back to Tampa -- the spoon-thick shakes (which come in dozens of flavors) are on the short list of the greatest desserts in the world.

We drove across town on a Saturday afternoon for ice cream. Unfortunately, we waited in line for quite some time, but the line never moved. There was only 1 person working which was probably not adequate. We finally lefT without being served.

Local, family owned ice cream stand in business for over 55 years. Homemade ice cream, amazing milkshakes and chili cheese dogs are must try items on the menu. Bring cash, they don't accept plastic.

If you are a fan of the neighborhood place you can go and get something cold to drink, maybe something sweet (ice cream / milk shakes), or a snack and just relax, this is it. Dairy Joy has been around forever, apparently. We noticed it and visited it several times. It is a favorite of the locals and is very... More
