We were here 25 yrs ago and came back for an anniversary. What a change! The building is still beautiful and food is good but the atmosphere was awful! We had reservations & still had a 45 minute wait in a noisy crowded bar area. Then they tried to seat us in that very same bar area and I begged... More

I think now we have finally eaten at all the Columbia Restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area. This location being one of the finest ones. We celebrated our anniversary here, which our waiter must have overheard. When we thought we were done, he smiled and said, "Not yet!" The surprise dessert was quite unexpected, but delightfully received. We personally think... More

Amazing restaurant. The best Cuban restaurant in Tampa. Established in 1905. Superb service. For an amazing meal from the salad to the Palomilla steak. It's not just dinner but an experience...

Even before we ate we enjoyed reading about the history of this oldest Florida restaurant. Once we started eating, we realized that this is certainly a special place. The inside of this place is amazing, like an indoor garden.

Oh my goodness, where to start. The restaurant is gorgeous, full of history, and absolutely incredible food with attentive and friendly service. It was a bit pricey, but I feel the food and the spectacular restaurant itself are not to be missed. The bread that they brought first was so fresh it was still steaming hot, and my chicken manchego... More

Took my mother and aunt for lunch to the Columbia. We had reservations but were a bit late. They seated us about five minutes after we arrived. We all enjoyed our shared Cuban sandwiches, soup and shared famous 1906 salad, and had no room for dessert unfortunately. The waiter quickly replaced my soup when he brought the Spanish bean instead... More

Great atmosphere and you really get the feel of what a high class night out on the town would have felt like in Ybor City back in the early 1900's. Food is amazing and staff is top notch. I would also say spend the time and extra money to enjoy the Flaminco Show. Also a must is the 1905 salad.

Took my wife out to breakfast while on a recent tripto Tampa. The food and service were great! Fare seems Cuban inspired, the staff was very upbeat and attentive.

My wife and I were visiting Tampa and just had to eat at the Columbia. This restaurant on 7th Avenue takes up one and quarter blocks and can seat up to 1700 dinners. My wife order the Red Snapper "Adelita" and I had the Mahi Mahi "Varadero". Both were excellent. We ordered the "White Chocolate Bread Pudding" to go for... More

This restaurant is an icon in the Tampa area and for good reason. You must go if you are in the area. Every time I go to Tampa on business, I visit this restaurant for a great meal and great service. I am on business so I am usually alone so I sit at the bar which bartenders are wonderful... More

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
