Wimauma is an independent, family owned restaurant in the heart of the affluent S. Tampa dining scene. Wimauma was started 8 months ago by Chef Gary Moran and his wife Amy. Chef Moran is a Tampa native who left over 20 years ago to pursue a culinary career in New York, London and San Francisco. The food at Wimauma is as Chef Moran describes it "Modern American with a Southern flair". Chef Moran has a restless creativity which compels him to change the menu's at least once a week, in addition to doing a full complement of specials every week. Chef Moran has an extensive knowledge of all the worlds major cuisines, and he creates dishes which capture his wide-ranging experience and sense of playfulness.
