Great food! Went there for dinner, as we were tired to prepare a meal...Tried fish pie and homemade onion rings! It was spot on! Loved it! Local pub scene.......

Called in on off chance and were lucky to get the last available table. Excellent menu choices. We chose from the specials board, had two drinks for under £15. Staff were very busy but still made time to be friendly. Will certainly go again.

We have been been a couple if times now over the last years. We had to wait for a while for our food on the first visit, but it really was worth the wait. Food was superb. Young waitress was very pleasant, and more importantly, the beer was great! I hope we get to come again!

Went here last night, the first thing I would like to say is the attitude of the waitress who clearly isn't happy with her job, she rolled her eyes constantly when asked by us and other customers for things. Her friend was also sat at the bar and we saw her continually go to her friend to complain about the... More

Had a family weekday lunch there and we were all very pleased with our visit, especially my 6 year old granddaughter who was really obligingly catered for. The service was very efficient, pleasant and helpful. Although we waited half an hour for our food we were happy to do so as this meant our meals were freshly prepared and cooked.... More

The pub decor sadly needs updating. It's great for inexpensive or budget meals though. The food is standard Hungry Horse.

We visited the Bell at St Nicolas with our friends on a very sunny Tuesday ,we sat in the garden and had a very nice meal with fantastic service and a very varied menu with plenty of veggi options. The pub has a very country feel and is very cosy either in the restaurant or outside in the garden. There... More

God that a proper long wait to be served....nice pub and food looks nice but as a 'food pub' staff would be handy.

So sorry you had a long wait. It is so difficult to guess who will be arriving for a meal as we only had 8 people booked. At the end of service we had served 54 covers which is more than expected. We are addressing the problem as it seems that the only thing (hopefully) that causes a problem to... More

Went for Sunday lunch, which was OK, but I guess that most of it is bought in ready prepared. Such a shame too that the meat is not 'real' and probably bought in previous cooked and sliced ready for heating. Definitely not a joint of meat roasted on the premises. Shame.

Hi there. I can assure you that all of the products cotained in our Sunday roast are produced on the premises. Our meat is sourced from Mark at Preston Butchers on a weekly basis & our vegatables are supplied from T.J Wholesale Fruiterers also on a weekly basis. The Daupinoise potatoes & Yorkshire Puddings are produced on the premises. So... More

I booked this lovely old English pub for a family outing for fathers day purely on Trip Adviser reviews and I wasn't dissapointed. I phoned ahead to book and advised that my dad is disabled and needed a table near to the door. On our arrival Danny the proprietor was there to greet us and help my dad to his... More
